Marco helps you from the moment you arrive. His friendliness have been a big plus. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The guest house is in the center of the city and it is close to everywhere.

The real problem was an internet connection or actually its lack.

The owner was very friendly, the whole facility is located close to the city centre, bus stops, cafes, and restaurants nearby.

For the price, the only thing that I would have any issue with is the WiFi (though I was fully prepared for this based on other reviews). This seems to depend on how many people are using it : sometimes it's possible to do basic browsing but often only useful for e-mails. Just making this even a little bit faster would be a big plus. But then, I wasn't there to browse the internet.

Outstanding location for the price ! Close to the train station and city centre (within easy walking distance of both) with a small supermarket across the street. Marco is a really nice guy and I very much appreciated the honesty in not trying to embellish anything. This is a VERY basic no-frills place and doesn't pretend to be anything else. But it's comfortable and clean, my room was pleasantly cool and had a fridge, a TV, a desk and wardrobe. There were locks for the building, flat and the room itself, and a small but quite pleasant shared balcony area. As somewhere for a few days to explore Bologna and the surrounding area, I would highly recommend this for budget travellers.

Walking at night seemed a little bit uncomfortable in the area. Apart from that it’s quite close to the Main Street.

The hosts where very nice and welcoming. Would recommend for solo travellers that want a cheap place. Wifi is slow but it does work and mini fridge was available.

Beautiful room, very clean and nicely decorated. The shared terrace was also very comfortable. Riva Reno Guest House has the exact kind of charm and personal attention to detail that I expect when visiting Italy. The place is very authentic and romantic, perfect for couples. The location is amazing, close to supermarkets, pharmacies, tobacco shops, and restaurants, 10-minute walking distance from all the central piazzas and important places in Bologna. The host was very friendly and gives an early check-in when possible, he also speaks several foreign languages.

But i thought there should have been a rubber/plastic mat in the shower stall as not to slip and fall and also to build some raised rim or curb so the water does not spill into the rest of the bathroom.

The most convenient is the location so close to the historical centre. The bed was very comfortable. The GuestHouse was very clean and quiet. On my next trip to Bologna i will definitely consider booking a room with you again.

The hardest bed I ever slept in:( And the second night a guy next door kept screaming and shouting and acting crazy late at night...

At first we couldn´t find the place because there were no sign with the name, but after a phonecall a very helpful man came and checked us in. Really liked living with locals and not in the exact middle but perfect walkingdistance to shopping and things to do and see. Very nice cleaning!

My main point of criticism is the slow Wi-Fi (as of 09/2022). I haven’t experienced such a slow and unreliable Wi-Fi for a couple of years now. And I am not talking about problems with streaming Netflix in 4K, but about basic things like trying to book an accommodation for the next place to visit. With some patience, it was still possible, but usually it was better for me to use the mobile data of my phone.

The room itself and the shared bathroom were nice and clean. Even though the place is not too close to city centre or trains station, it is still in reasonable walking distance (~10 minutes). Staff is nice and friendly.

The host was really nice. You can reach the city center by foot in 10 min. The neighbourhood was quiet and the room was clean. There is even a small park nearby. Very close to the hotel are a Coop and a big Pam supermarket. Checkin and checkout were uncomplicated. We recommend this hotel!

A very relaxing stay at the accommodation Riva Reno in central Bologna. It doesn't take you long to get to the main square and there is a coop nearby. The host Marco is also very friendly and speaks German which made our communication easier.
