How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

This apartment offered great value for money. We arrived from Australia at about 9.30am, very tired. While our room wasn't ready. We were able to offload our luggage, change our cloths, and use the rest room before heading out for the day to walk off our jetlag. We knew we were a descent walk from the main attractions but close to the Train Station. Rome requires you to walk, regardless of where you stay. The rooms were lovely. My family of five were very comfortable. The street appeal / stairs belie the sweetness of the rooms once you're upstairs. The breakfast was simple but sufficient. By the second day, our somewhat reserved host know that I like one espresso at the beginning and another one towards the end. We were very happy here.

Train tracks outside building
Simple and quiet. Breakfast was great—eggs, toast, pastries, yogurt, and more. The bed was very comfortable.

Loved the location in historic area. The room and bathroom were just what was advertised. It was nice to have a little breakfast available in the morning before going out.

Very clean and well maintained property. Lindo did an amazing job taking care of us. We had a personal issue with our phone charger and he lent us one that worked, cleaned our room daily and made us fresh breakfast every morning. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay thanks to him. Everything was fantastic!

The place around the building was too noisy for us. The bathroom outside the room did not work for us, next time we will prefer another room with the bathroom inside.
Everything inside the building was perfect. Linto gave us a sweet taste of welcoming. Good breakfast, amazing bed and close to the city centre and the bus/train station.

Only minor point but if you have the room with a private external bathroom you may have to walk past the breakfast room in the morning and can be tricky in the dark at night. But it also wasn't too much of a hassle.
Location was perfect! We were able to walk everywhere and were close to the station when we left. The hosts were wonderful. They allowed us to check in late (for a small fee) and gave us an Easter chocolate😊. The breakfast is great, freshly made coffee each morning. The bed was extremely comfortable. Plenty of food options close by.

It is situated close to Roma Termini and all the tourist spots are accessible via train. A perfect stay if you’re going to spend the days in Rome going out. The staff were really nice and accommodating and waited for us despite arriving late at around 11pm. Lucinto even gave us a map and a few recommendations

The only slight minus is that the breakfast options are a bit small, but it didn’t bother us :)
We liked the location, near the metro, train station and center, easy to reach by foot. The staff was also nice, comfortable room.

Breakfast wasn't the most interesting / imaginative, but filled us up nonetheless.
Staff were very helpful and communicative in advance and throughout our stay. Rooms were clean, well airconditioned and quiet. We had plenty of space for a family of 5 - a suite with 2 adjoining bedrooms and bathrooms.

Sorry I didn't get the hosts name he was so friendly told us where to go gave us a map we used religiously was always happy to help with smile. Bed was so comfy we had the external private bathroom was only a few steps away from room so don't let it put you off. Location is amazing couldn't have asked for better location for price. Breakfast simple but filling coisants and toast boiled eggs yoghurt cereal good little start to day amazing stay would highly recommend
