Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hotel was very dated, with very dated amenities, the bathroom was straight from the 1980s with the wear and tear to show for it. The hotel is also very cluttered with bits and bobs collected by the owners, who seem to be a little bit of a hoarder/s. The various random bits of furniture scattered everywhere are covered in layers of dust along with the very worn carpets it makes the place feel tired and unloved, which is a massive shame.
The location and the staff were fantastic. Special mention for Patricia, she was an amazing host

United KingdomNothing. I would only say that everything was ‘correct’, friendly, without going the extra mile. We were there for an end of season October weekend - few guests, but although everyone was friendly, all enquiries met with a polite ‘no, sorry’ - eg: request for a beach towel and hot chocolate in the evening. On the last day I realised when we got to the car I’d lost my bag, with money passports etc. Before I eventually found it, I ran back to the hotel and was given my room pass back to go in and check my room, but when it was not there, no further help was offered. Fortunately it was found, but I’d have felt happier knowing help would be available if I’d needed to look further/contact the police etc.
Perfectly situated, away from the crowds, but within easy reach of the shops and sites. Comfortable and clean.

United KingdomNothing, everything was perfect
Our stay at Hotel Serenella was fantastic. Everything about the accommodation was perfect. The room was a good size and balcony was lovely to sit out and relax. Bathroom was great and shower was wonderful (Always a plus when you get a good shower). The breakout areas, inside and out were comfortable and quiet. Great location and easy walk into town centre and Ferry dock. Also a very short walk took you to the Hotel Pontoon on the Lake where there were ample sunbeds. The bar area was clean and the bar staff were really friendly and helpful (Always smiling). Food was excellent, recommend the Bruschetta. The Pool was lovely but the Pontoon was our favourite place to chill out. Big shout out to Sara on reception who was a lovely lady and so helpful. Always had a smile on her face and always greeted you when coming and going. Flight home was cancelled, and Sara was so helpful in enabling us to stay in Room for additional night. All in All a wonderful stay in a lovely accommodation which made a perfect base for our holiday. Will definitely return. Thank You Sara

GermanyOne of the 2 parking areas right in front of the hotel has a ramp and it's not marked anyhow, so with a low sportscar you would get stuck suspended while trying to access. It would be enough to put a sign to avoid such unexpected.
Awesome location inside Sirmione, enabling to drive through the ZTL and not needing the car anymore once there. The breakfast was well prepared and with a multitude of tasty food. The room had a good air conditioning (really needed). We were allowed to leave the car in the parking while enjoying one last swim in the lake after checkout. The staff was truly welcoming.

SwedenWe’re sorry we didn’t order more for breakfast. Especially some more of the delicious juice.
We had a wonderful room with two half-floors. The breakfast is pre-ordered from a list on the evening before. You can order anything from the list. It’s excellent.

United Kingdomnothing
it was unique, very different to anywhere I have stayed before. I liked the fact it has been in the same family for 50yrs. The Interior is quite retro and arty, and beautifully done. It was away from the bustle of the old town but within easy walking distance. The staff and family were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious and even more enjoyable sitting out in the garden under the olive trees. Drinks and snacks available throughout the day at the pool bar. The area by the lakeside is beautiful with sun beds and the option to order refreshments. Overall a very enjoyable holiday and we will definitely return.

United KingdomIt would have been great to have a kettle in our room - we are Brits and we love a cup of tea first thing. Bed could have been softer for my old bones.
The location was fabulous and the staff were great at navigating us through the mille miglia race which coincided with our visit. Very welcoming and a beautiful hotel. The pool looked good but we walked on past to the pontoon and relaxed on the sun loungers, watching the world go by on the Lake. The breakfast was good and the coffee excellent. Parking was extra but reasonable and well worth the cost.
