How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The breakfast was a little average however they are very kind to make coffees and help to take up to the terrace if you wish
Wow. The room I stayed in had a wonderful view of the harbour from the terrace. Exceptional value for a relatively expensive island. The staff were super friendly and helped arrange my boat trip. The room was spacious. Location was perfect, just up from the harbour

A bit noisy for that time of the year (end of may). Motorbikes during the day. Noisy neighbors chatting all night. But not a big deal overall

The hotel is perfectly located in the center of the village, a small walk from the harbour. The staff is very friendly and, although we arrived in the morning, Salvatore could make a room available for us in less than and hour and offered us a coffee while waiting. The room itself is comfortable and quiet. They can serve you the breakfast on the terrasse above with a nice view on the sea and on Stromboli. Everything simple but nice, friendly and natural. We recommend!

Wecoming party was great. Salvatore was always there for all our needs. Breakfast was exceptional. A variety of juices, cappucino , expresso. Cheeses, cereals, local and seasonal fruits we enjoyed piking fresh figs from their trees. Room was bigger than expected the sea view was breathtaking. for resaurants I recommend "Da Paulino" great for for pastas and fish. Thank you Salvatore!!!

- There was a dog in the room above ours (are dogs even allowed in this hotel?), and its owners left him/her there the entire evening.. So the dog barked from before 10 pm until 11.30 pm when its owners arrived back home. Very annoying!

The breakfast was sub-par compared to many Italian B&B's but adequate!
Absolutely beautiful place with a wonderful room - spacious and everything we needed! Superb location near the ferry stop and the staff went above and beyond! Tutto perfetto e sicuramente tornero' :)

Given that this hotel is centrally located one might expect some loud music (even after midnight) from a bar further down the street. Breakfast pretty basic.
The hotel is centrally located just 2 mins from the port. Though our room did not have a sea view (it had a garden view) there is a corner terrace where one can have breakfast which provides ample view of the sea and the other islands. Hotel staff were very helpful and kind.

Breakfast could be improved but nice view on the terrace if you manage to find a table (there’s just two of them)
No-frills hotel in the centre of Panarea. Super convenient location to enjoy restaurants and bars. You can reach the beaches with a lovely 20 min walk. Clean, comfortable beds and nice personnel, I would recommend it for an easy stay on the island

Shower was very small and leaked a lot of water everywhere. The music wasn't an issue for us as we love the atmosphere and have been to the island many times so were used to it however, it could be an issue for others. In reality if you stay anywhere close to the port you are likely to hear the music playing from Banacali each night however Hotel Tesoriero is next door.
Excellent location right near the port and all amenities of the island. The close location to the port does mean you are close to one of the main nightlife attractions of the island so be prepared to hear music playing from the evening. Staff were wonderful, friendly and accomodating to all our needs and let us leave our bags and use the bathroom before and after check out. Bed was extremely comfy and the breakfast terrace has a lovely view. Room was very spacious. A safe is available in the room and bottled water on arrival. Housekeeping were excellent! Very reasonably priced for the island. We would stay here again.
