Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaNothing. It was perfect.
Beautiful spot with a nice garden. It’s relaxing and nicely decorated. It’s very convenient to the commuter train station and cost just 1.5 euros to go up to Naples or down into Sorrento. Breakfast is made to order, so we had omelettes that were delicious.

AustraliaShower had very bad waterproofing - water leaked out from the shower into the entire bathroom floor and even into the room a little bit. Location is a little bit out of the way from Sorrento but still easy enough to get to via train.
Very nice breakfast, large room and large bathroom. Close to Piano di Sorrento station. Kind and helpful hosts.

A lovely stay. The room was truly stunning and it had really good facilities. The family who own Villa lolanda were also lovely. The breakfast was a stand out because there was such a range of options including fresh fruit, homemade cakes and menu requests could be made. The effort they went to provide an excellent breakfast did not go unnoticed.

RomaniaWe would not say we did not like, but as improvements: there could have been a shower handset besides of just a shower head. It is useful especially when coming from the sea. Also, for the breakfast, we would have enjoyed some cold cuts next to the egg meals.
Tidiness: just as in a hotel, towels are changed daily in case of need (still everyone should be self aware of the environment impact) Location: within small walking distance from the train station (3-4 minutes by foot) The attention to details: entire villa is arranged attentively, rooms, breakfast terrace, smoking place, yard, all are beautiful and representative for region, you will feel part of the scenery Safety: area is safe, quiet and supervised Food: extremely good, cakes are homemade and of a great diversity, also the coffee is a plus. Communication: great, hosts are very polite and provided us with detailed information regarding the check-in. Also, all our questions were answered in time.

It's a family run business. They are so friendly and kind. Not to mention extremely helpful with suggestions for getting around. The breakfast was amazing. Freshly prepared home baked goods daily, fresh fruit, omelet made to order, yogurt, cereal, and different crostini each morning brought to our breakfast table - sometimes bruschetta, sometimes smoked salmon with cheese and olive oil. The property was quiet and just around the corner from the Circumvesuviana train stop.

NorwaySalvatore and his family are perfect hosts. Very friendly and helpful. If you have any questions or requests, don't be shy! Just let them know what you need, and they'll be right there. Very nice breakfast as well. The location is a nice break from the busy Sorrento central area. Very quiet and beautiful. Also very close to the train station, and a short walk to some wonderful restaurants.

United KingdomThe only negative for me is that I found the bed uncomfortable but this could be down to personal preference!
Beautiful family run B&B. Rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast was excellent with choice of pastries, fresh eggs and charcuterie. Salvatore was a great host, always contactable and gave some great recommendations. The location is brilliant, just a 2 min walk from the train station with access to Sorento. Piano Di Sorrento is a lovely little town with restaurants and a lovely beach and much quieter than Sorento.

United KingdomIn my opinion room could have a few wine and water glasses, bottle opener, nife, spoon and forks.
Good location in a quiet and safe residential area called Piano di Sorrento.Just a few minutes walk from the train station. I was a bit worried about being so closed to the train station but I couldn't even tell this is so closed. One way ticket to the centre of Sorrento cost €1.40..Perfect location to explore Amalfi coast and Pompei. Salvatore is very friendly and helpful. We had a room with a Juliet balcony. Asked if we could change it to a room with terrace and Salvatore was happy to do so. He provided everything I asked for for example, wine glasses, bottle opener and iron. The room cleaned every day. We had a very good breakfast.
