Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyThe wall paint and lighting in the room can definitely be better.
The location is fantastic. The staff were really nice and helpful especially Francesca who stayed beyond her work time to ensure we arrive for the check-in process, we had a delay on the road. We’re grateful to her.

NetherlandsThe room itself might need some remodelling. - The room is quite dated and could use a refresher - The beds are modular and ours collapsed on us at some point... (Easy to fix but an odd experience(definitely our own fault though)) - The kitchen counter has a protective film that has worn over time and should be replaced
We had a port/sea side room. It was a great view and very nice how the room also contained a kitchen. The pool while a bit cold in comparison to the outside air was a great refresher after a long day driving and the breakfast was super to the point I was even allowed to bring a friend who was near to breakfast so we could catch up.

FranceSlightly noisy bedrooms even though the villa stands on a hill.
Impressive and very nice tiny studio in a large and modern villa. What a view on la Spezia airport, just from my bedroom window. It was as well a real pleasure to enjoy the great breakfast on the terrace, just next to the swimming pool, where it must be enjoyable to swim in summer time. All the personel was extremely friendly and polite City center easily reachable by bus nearby, or my walking about 10 min

United StatesThe air conditioning was not very good and it was incredibly hot. The view was marvelous but we were pretty far from everything. The place was very clean and the staff were exceptional.
The pool was terrific. We used it each day when we got back. The rooms were a bit tired and dated although a good size. The shower was very small.

HungaryThe dishwasher was out of order. The AC as well - after the first night. Nowadays it is not easy to get spare parts so fixing takes longer. But we got fans.
We liked the whole facility. It is not crowded as big hotels so you can have your privacy. The swimming pool was great for chilling. It also has a massage function. The staff was friendly and helpful when needed.

United StatesThe room could be updated and possibly a few more towels could be provided. For us the biggest challenge was transportation. The taxi's are unreliable so unless you want to walk a good distance you are stuck. This isn't Villa Nina's fault, but it is something to be aware of. Having a car would have made things much easier.
The owner was lovely. The Pool and the morning breakfast (and the woman who served it) were the best. The size of the room was very small but we expected that. It was clean and it served its purpose. And it had AC which we needed in the heat. Appreciated the daily cleaning and the water. Other reviews mentioned issues with street and AC noise, we didn't have a problem with either and we did use the small kitchenette provided. Every effort was made to accommodate us and our needs. It had a cover if you don't choose to use it that allows for more space. They went above and beyond to get us to the train station when we were unable to get a taxi, their staff took us.

NetherlandsThe location was rather noisy, because of the bussy road. We didn't really mind, but it is good to know that the road is very near the property. Overall we had a good stay,. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the size of the room and the very hard beds. Our room (nr 1) had a pole in the middle of the room which made it very cramp. There is also a sort of kichenette in the (I can't believe anyone will use this) room, that takes up a lot of space. Better to take this out and make the room bigger.
We loved the pool. The breakfast was fine.

AustraliaEverything was well cleaned everyday. We had two rooms and the smaller room had a bathroom that was smelling slightly damp but i think that was more about drain pipes as shower and tiles all very clean.
Villa Nina was up the hill overlooking the city but just a short 2min walk to bus. Great views and so great to start the day with a swim in a clean and refreshing pool as well as after big day out. Francesca and staff were helpful and friendly. So easy to walk (20 min) or short bus (5 min bus and 5 min walk) to La Spezia railway and ferry to get to Cinque Terre beaches for the day. A lot of varieties of pastries and fresh espresso coffee made for breakfast. All rooms clean and shower great. Our dates were mixed up but the staff were still able to accomodate us with 2 rooms with kitchenette. Dinner in La Spezia most nights but best to book ahead if you can. Tommy’s takeaway pizzeria had great delivery service on our last night too. Thank you Francesca.

NetherlandsThe lady who welcomed us was in a hurry and seemed to be more interested in other things than to welcome us. Also paying such an amount for a room without a window is absurd. The location is situated between two busy roads so calling it a quiet location is at least misleading. The bed was most likely comfortable for a fakir. The floor was more comfortable than the bed. All in all a very bad choice to stay.
The lady who served breakfast was wonderful. Also the pool was nice after a long warm day in town.
