I loved everything about my stay at Amaranto Bed + Breakfast. It’s a little haven just a few blocks back from the main tourist drag and quick walk from the ferries. The rooms are spacious, well equipped and so peaceful. Jirge is the ultimate host too. I enjoyed not only all his recommendations for things to see and do and places to eat (don’t miss New Especias + Chela Nah!) but also the daily chats with him as well. My stay was one of the highlights of my three weeks of traveling in Mexico.

The layout of the place was a little odd, with multiple exit points, all with their own key. But this issue did not cause any problems for us.

Jorge the owner was very nice and accommodating. We had 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen, tv room, and dining room. It was very secure. We have travelled internationally before and prefer to support local businesses. Though we have stayed in all-inclusive resorts before, that isn’t our preference. Jorge is s self-made entrepreneur, born and raised in northern Mexico, and worthy of support. We are glad to have supported a self-employed person rather than support a multinational corporation.

Single sided windows had the reflective side inside the room so people could see us in our room at night Breakfast was a bit disappointing for the price, we found better value for money in town

Honestly, not a bad thing to say about this place. Be aware that they do not accept credit cards. Also, keep in mind this location is a short walk off the beaten-path of central town area.

Gorgeous setting. Owner, Jorge, is very kind and sincerely interested in ensuring you have a pleasant holiday. The place was incredibly clean. Unique rooms with architectural charm. Rooms have everything you could need. They provided drinking water as well, which is a perk! Delicious breakfast is served every morning for a minimal added costs--well worth it. A short walk up from the central park of town. Close-by to many restaurants. I visited Cozumel with my Mother and the two of us really enjoyed our room and stay here. Jorge offers many tips and recommendations for the area. Highly recommended! We will be back!

We bought breakfast - it was really nice and homemade but a little expensive. Surgestion - include the breakfast in the rent (choosable), then you wouldn't feel the price :-)

The place was authentic with a very friendly atmosphere. The appartment was spacious and nice. We liked the beds, paintings, the garden etc. Jorge was very kind and helpfull - he completed the stay. Location was great just a short walk from the center and harbour.

Probably some nice soaps/shampoo/conditioner would have been nice. 1 large blanket for the bed might be nice as well instead of 2 small ones.

Jorge was a lovely host. The room was on the main floor and was a great size. We didn't use the little kitchen, but there were some small appliances there. The shower was nice and hot. Bed a little hard but typical for central america. Our scooter helmets were stolen but Jorge helped us out with that because he caught the guy on camera. Overall, a good stay.

There is no real windows, so it's sort of like an open air penthouse. Great for fresh air, but can be a bit noisy because its next to the road. We slept with earplugs (all the staff) so had a great night sleep.

We stayed only 1 night and got penthouse room. It's gigantic and has sort of a tree climb in the middle, you can climb and have panorama view. Big super comfy bed. Simply stunning room. There is no real windows, so it's sort of like an open air penthouse. Very welcoming, accommodating host Sofía.

The Amaranto is a great place to stay - for short or for longer. It is only a short walk away from the busy part of Cozumel. The room is very comfortable and pretty with many nice details. The Wi-Fi and the AC worked well in the room.

Great place, super original yet minimalistic and very clean. Sofía is an amazing host, very nice person, flexible and lightning fast at replying any questions. You can find everything in walking distance.

Nothing! Was a great stay!

The room was so spacious and so many little things were thought of to make you feel more at home. Very very clean and lovely communal spaces if you chose to use them. The team were very attentive, breakfast was lovely every morning. Sofia was also there to greet and welcome you each morning and provide great tips on what to do during the stay. Was lovely, would definitely stay again.

We had a booking.com discrepancy between the description on the website and the booking confirmation. We selected the bungalow and end up with the room with view. Which is a nice room but due to the palm roof and open construction it was a little bit noisy during the Christmas time. (sensitiv sleeper) But we got another room 😊👍

Jorge was a great host and is a nice person! His staff were nice and friendly too. Our room was clean and very comfortable to stay in. The bed and shower were both great! We liked the location also. It was close to everything. We would recommend and stay here again. Thank you!

A minor issue was that there were quite a few mosquitoes and ants in the room (maybe due to the kitchenette being there). Not an issue, but the breakfast is at an additional cost and though it was nice it was basic.

Really lovely decor with Mexican tiles and ceramics adding to the atmosphere. The room was spacious and well kitted out with a kitchenette. The facilities included fresh water provision. We had a comfortable night sleep. Sophia who was working there was extremely helpful with giving lots of ideas and tips on what to do around the island. Overall a great experience :)

My only criticism would be the window to the bedroom had not even a net curtain so as on ground floor people at the rear could peer in and the open areas in the bathroom allows insects to fly in as one blocked with a folded towel and the other just had a plant in a pot on the ledge, and the double wood doors to the bathroom from the bedroom weren’t easy to close.

Hotelier has very friendly and accommodating when I asked for an extra towel for my hair. Loved the quirky design of the bungalow and the bed was very comfortable. The shower worked well with hot water. The location was ideal and only 10 mins walk to the hub bub of things. It exceeded our expectations and really is great value for money!

Our stay was great! The room was huge...perfect for three people. The architectural design of the bed & breakfast was very charming. There was an extremely powerful AC unit in the room, so we were never hot. The beds were firm, but very comfortable. The location was great...about a 10 minute walk down to the water. Jorge was awesome and had lots of helpful tips. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast...each morning was something different. We will definitely be back.
