The dinner did not quite meet my expectations. At that price level I expected a lot more refined food than what was served. We had the most tasteless minestrone soup I have ever had as a starter one evening.

The breakfast was varied and good.

Old narrow stair cases (which come with such old buildings)

The location is fantastic, if you destination is to Jotunheimen National Park, otherwise in the middle of nowhere.

Room only has a bed and a useless plastic chair, a plastic table or desk would have helped a lot, it's not that difficult or expensive and there's plenty of room for it.

Wonderful location in a mountain valley, charming building, good breakfast, easy parking, good sized room.

Breakfast provided a variety of options but the hot items were cold.

Property was well taken cared of. it was like staying at the family farm or if you are from the US similar to staying at a national park lodge. the history of the place and the interior design made for an interesting stay. Rooms were basic but was expected for type of hotel. Dinner was a set menu and this night they offered outstanding venison! Excellent service provided in the restaurant.

Breakfast was great, no complaints. 3 course dinner wasn't a favourite. An a la carte menu would be better. However, they did cater for our dietary requirements when we asked.

While the common space is enjoyable and vast, the room is very tiny. The window opens at the river which may be noisy for some.

This hotel has character! It's built in an old house that is gigantic and has a lot of common spaces to hang out at. The dining "viking" hall has a fantastic view of the mountains that can be enjoyed from most tables. The hotel serves tasty, enjoyable dinner. The hotel is built in effectively a canyon, and we could hear rivers flowing through the mountains from our rooms. We were sad we couldn't stay there more!

The superior room is rather small but adequate. It’s a big place with lots of for groups, not a more quiet hotel in the mountains. Most of the artwork is interesting, though there are a few good paintings in the dining room.

Excellent breakfast, both Norwegian and American. Very nice 3-course dinner in a nice dining room. Good views on the mountains. A lot atmosphere with a lot of quaint wall paintings. Two fire places with a good fire, even in August, were a definite bonus.

The rooms are a bit spartanic.

Deep in the valley, with a view up to the glacier of Galdhøpiggen, this is a homely place in the mountains. The common area in the hotel is spacious and comfortable, and it‘s well located when you want to go over Sognefjell.

Very noisy dining room, too many people for my taste. I didn't realise it was such a large resort and with so many children. Bedroom very spartan.

Historic buildings and sitting rooms. Dinner was excellent.

There was either birds or mice inside our wall on the bedside. Alittle uncomfortable to listen to them crawling at night.

The fact that it was a cultural museum, breakfast was being served. Old but clean rooms.

Staff not in anyway helpful. No information on the hotel, history area etc. Staff didn't seem interested in guests. Room was a disappointment, no attempt had been made to make it comfortable or inviting The food was awful, set dinner tasteless watery soup, lumpy mash potato covered in a tasteless 'stew' which was liquid with a few bits of chewy dry meat and an over set Panna cotta with over cooked fruit! Had better school meals. Staff seemed most concerned about selling guests the wine. Hotel then charged more for dinner than booking email stated, not told until checking out! Bread at breakfast was good, but the cooked element was cold, staff seemed not to be aware how unsafe it is to keep sausages etc tepid. It seems that hotel is reliant on the quirky nature of the building and is reliant on the historic status to attract guests.

Location was good, interesting building and collection of artifacts, but would recommend staying in Lom and only calling in for coffee to ensure good accomodation & food, while still having the opportunity to appreciate the building & history!

for me, the bed was too soft, but I can tell that about literally all the beds I've slept in in Norway (perhaps local tradition)

family hotel with the story, cosy public halls with fireplaces, antique paintings, rifles and furniture, very interesting story of the masterpiece column in the yard. Place with an ambience in the middle of mountains, really much to see except just your bed
