How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

My room was slightly dusty and when the housekeeper had been by they only seemed to have done up the bed (not changed bedding either, despite me getting a food stain on on of the sheets). They hadn't vacuumed, dusted, thrown away trash or cleaned out the trash can (the last one is fine by me as it wasn't full yet anyways) nor given me new towels so I'd rather not have them come by at all then if they weren't planning on doing much there. The place is nice, but I found the pool a bit lacking and my room a tad small so I don't think the price was totally worth it.
The receptionist was attentive and nice, the facilities were cosy and the outdoor grounds were lovely. My room was small but alright. Beds were comfortable.

Fine family hotel with nice garden en view. Quite large, yet cosy. Friendly staff and breakfast. Stayed there overnight on route and it was perfect for this.

No bath robe,no slippers,no hair conditioner. No sauna.( it looks that it’s underconsteuction. This hotel need normal sauna with view outside and cold bath afterwards;) Also for dinner need more food because for pregnant ladies and kids they can make only burger and of course with preordered.
I like swimming pool and old history of it:)

The extra bed broke, someone came to fix it and I said it will break again, he tried it and I was right. In the middle of the night we waited for another bed. They finally brought it. And the hotel did nothing to compensate the discomfort. I asked for a room close to the elevator because my mom can’t walk. They gave us the room that was at the other end and my mom was in pain walking back and forth. The corridors need update. There was no light in one corridor for a day. Everything is old and need some update. No towels by the pool.
The gardens were beautiful

It was "fancy" some years ago. Now hotel is kinda "senior"- just as most of the guests.

the very odd minimal evening food choices which could not be changed, other than turning the “fixed” starter into a main course!!- no air conditioning in the rooms BACS the stay over the hottest days on record unpleasant but the room thermostat seemed to make no deference T all

I guess when you book a hotel with ten pictures of swimming pools on main page, you are getting a bit upset when it turns up it’s closed.
The bed was comfy and nice. breakfast is good enough as well.

No continental breakfast the first day because too few people. Only the day course for diner the second day because too many reservations…. The advertised indoor swimming pool was closed.

The hotel's location is nice and good, quite convenient to the nearby attractions. Hotel amenities like outdoor pool, although not that big but is good. But when it comes to 'clean'...its not what we expect. Side tables and carpet floor under the beds are dusty and there were candle wax pieces on our bedroom floor. The hotel doesn't have centralized air conditioning so we needed to ask for an electric fan as it was so hot inside the room. These comments are just based on our overnight stay. So the hotel is fairly good!

The booked room was ok, but not clean(more on this in positive). The location is a bit odd, but ok as it is mostly a conference hotel. No breakfast buffet, but that's a minor and temporary minus given the circumstances (covid).
Staff service is excellent. Upon complaint of the booked room, was upgraded to a (much) nicer room, which was exceptional. Outdoor pool. Kistefos skulpturer park is approx. 10 minutes away. Would recommend as a single night hotel for passer-bys.
