Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaPoor lighting in the room, felt very dark. No soundproofing and blinds didn’t block out street lights at night Shower didn’t drain properly in the bathroom and sink was at an awkward level (very small and low down), rust stains from a leaking broken soap dispenser

United KingdomPicking up the keys and checking in is extremely confusing - the hotel exists under three different names used interchangebly, with no explaination. The reception is on the other side of the street and the hotel building itself lacks clear instructions, though an attempt was made. There is a reception desk in the hotel building, but it's just not being used. There was leftover, mouldy bread in the cupboard from the previous tenant. There was a massive bug flying around for half of our stay. My partner has noticed black mould in the shower. The bathroom was getting extremely humid, to the point where both our towels were constantly wet. The "double bed" was actually two single beds standing next to each other. They would constantly drift apart. Those beds were so close to the wall from both sides that we had to crawl into bed not from the side but the front, not to mention that fixing those two beds drifting apart was nearly impossible due to lack of space. The bedsheets were dirty, we've even noticed blood splatters on the pillows? There were teabags and coffee supplied, but unfortunately just two of each, making it last exactly one tea/coffe break for the both of us. What threw us off at the very end was what happened with our breakfast. On our second to last day at the hotel, our breakfast got a bit mixed up. One of the sets we have ordered (there are 4 sets available) was a mix of two different sets. The elements in the set were just not the ones mentioned on the leaflet. Then, on our last day, seeing our breakfast package was late, we called the reception, only to be informed that they "forgot" to order our breakfast, offering a refund. That refund was issued, though I can't express enough our dissapointment, having to catch the train on an empty stomach. Fortunately we were smart enough to wake up quite a lot earlier and thanks to the hotel's location we managed to eat breakfast at a local coffeshop.
The location was excellent and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. We appreciated the kitchenette a lot. The breakfast was pretty good, but there was room for improvement still.

SwedenWe would have preferred breakfast bufe to a lunch box in the morning. The contents of the box were ok but they lacked something hot for breakfast and coffee. The room was small and not very well cleaned. The beds felt old and uncomfortable.
The service staff in the recption were very nice and helpful with all our questions. Hotell was very central, close to everything. Tram, shops, old town.

SwitzerlandVery old destroyed Furniture, mold everywhere in the bathroom. We booked a double bed and got a 1.20 or 1.40 for two adults. Late arrival and no wish to go back to reception located on the other side of the street at 1 am. Will never book again. Main building hotel Red Brick is much much better.
Only good - close to train station. Not first time in this hotel but worse stay.

FinlandA suggestion: The yard parking is behind the entrance gate, which is usually half-closed (daytime) or closed (from 22:00) and the reception is across the street. It would be nice to install a camera in order to facilitate the exit by car. We had to cross the street each time to ask to open the gate.
The aparthotel's location is perfect, both the historical centre, cafés/restaurants, and the shopping centre are just a short walk away. The parking is convenient and inside the yard. The room had a private WC and equipped kitchenette. The property is pet-friendly, our cat made rapidly herself at home and liked to watch from the windowsill. Drinking water (RT and chilled) is freely available from the machine at the lobby.

Mały Kraków is a great small hotel in the very heart of Krakov. The location is fantastic - it is near the railroad and Bus station and the historical part of the city—lots of great cafes near. The receptionist was so lovely and helpful! I enjoyed my stay, and I`ll return.

UkraineThe room was dirty, mattresses with yellow stains, towels with holes. The water in the shower went very bad, the drains were clogged. Cold air blew in from the closed window. Very strong hearing. Something was dripping and noisy in the pipes all night, knocking and dripping water could be heard all night. In the room you can hear everything that the neighbors say behind the wall. There were two cups and two chairs for three.
At the same time, the staff is very good, I thank the administrator girl for a pleasant attitude towards the guests.

HungaryThe room that we were given was not even close to what we were promised to get. The walls were dirty and there were several cobweb in the corners. We had to pay more then what was shown originally. The explanation was something about exchanging forint to local money. If we ever visit Krakko in the future, we definitely not going to choose this accomodation again.
