In the pool people don’t complain with the pool hours for children. In the bedroom, the bathroom always smell bad.

There weren't flippers available to use the spa, and there are specific schedules for children to use the spa area, and they were not respected. A place where is supposed to be quiet and relaxing was filled with children and there was no staff present to remind people of the schedules (which are written in several places). The area surrounding the interior pool is very slippery if you're walking barefoot,my partner even fell 😕 Our suggestion is that someone from the staff should be allocated to the spa area to manage things, since not everyone has common sense. We understand that it's low season, although it would made a huge impact in our spa experience.

The view is absolutely stunning and the surroundings are very quiet ,you can only hear the birds singing... The restaurant and breakfast were really good, the staff was very helpful and very welcoming and accommodating.

Poor wifi. The temperature of the indoor pool/place was really inconsistent, the first and last day it was warm (inside and on the pool, but the rest was really cold, we almost got sick because of the abrupt change of temperatures, imagine leaving the sauna or the turkish bath with temperatures around 50/60 degrees and the overall temperature of the indoor is 20 degrees.)

The room is very minimalistic with no decoration at all, and additional equipment could be provided like hairdryer, or water boiler for example. You need to go outside to the reception to get hot water or coffee.

Spa. Swimpool water was too cold, jacuzzi not working, and also one of sauna was not working.

Grouting of tiles in bathroom showed signs of mildew and shower curtain was badly stained. After a brief power outage, Wi-Fi remained unavailable for several hours, which was inconvenient. Speakers in restaurant appear to be broken as they keep making a crackling noise when music is played, which is rather irritating.

The hotel continues to provide good value for money and the amenities in the room cover the basics for a comfortable stay. The breakfast buffet offers a satisfactory range of cold and hot items. A better effort should be made to keep hot items hot. Staff is friendly and accommodating to requests and deserves recognition.

Poor choice of food at lunch time - only soup and sandwiches. The quality of food not very consistent . From very tasty and well presented to mediocre, depending which chef is on duty.

Fantastic location, the views were incredible. We had a junior suite with a superior panoramic view. Very comfortable bed. Beautiful gardens. Good breakfasts, everything was fresh, despite the hotel being nearly empty at winter time.

The food in the restaurant lets the hotel down and this has been consistent over my stays. This trip I ordered the duck rice as a main which was served cold and even when I sent it back, it was served cold again. It was evident that it had been sitting in the pot pot for a while and was not cooked to order. Breakfast was good.

The fact the curtain pulls didn’t work and that it felt like the receptionist was deliberately not telling us things.

The room was lovely, as were the beds. Sadly not all the curtain pulleys worked and there were only 2 cups and saucers for 3 of us. It’s a shame that the windows don’t open as I found it impossible to get the aircon right. However, the evening meal was fabulous and breakfast was good too. Also, despite offering spa services, there was no one around working in the spa area or able to do treatments. We were not told this but could have been when we asked for an appointment or towels for the spa or dressing gowns. Instead, we were told that the receptionist would call us or come to the room; sadly, she did neither and we had to keep asking. But our room had a fabulous view…rm321. And the bottle of water was not free.

A frig in the room would be great or ice machines somewhere in the hotel. There is water left in the room but no way of it being cold. Also no coffee, just herbal teabags. Hot food selection at breakfast could be better. But overall a nice place and I hope you feed the odd one or two stray cats that wander round🐱

I was craving for chanfana, which is a local dish. It was only possible as a meal for 2 persons. I doubt that it was fresh cooked since it cooks for a long time. Therefore, the restaurant could heat it up just for a person and boil the potatoes that are served with it.

Dinner at the restaurant was ok, however I was expecting more traditional portugues dishes. There were some unexpected flavours.

Amazing view from the room, nice outdoor pool and lovely views from the restaurant. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff at restaurant and reception were polite and friendly. I can highly recommend the octopus salad, it was amazing!
