“My husband and I stayed 5 nights in one of the king suites. The room was clean and welcoming and you can’t beat the incredible views. It felt very private and The bed was comfortable. Our favorite feature was the large sliding door which opened wide to make the large patio part of the living space. We booked a couples massage in our room and that was lovely. From the moment we arrived to our departure the staff was attentive, helpful and friendly. Basalto is located between two accessible beaches with a short walk and they have towels, chairs and umbrellas if needed. The staff booked us taxi rides when we asked and they were always on time or early. It’s a quick 10 minute ride into Punta Mita. The breakfast option included in the stay were plenty and delicious. I wanted to bag up some of the homemade granola it was that good. The lunch and dinner was fabulous! We travel quite a bit and this is some of the best food we’ve had on our vacations. Try the grilled shrimp and Baja tacos!! The cocktails were so refreshing and tasty and they had plenty of wine options as well. We enjoyed the upstairs pool, deck and bar with expansive views. It’s the perfect place to get some sun, watch the ocean, the birds flying and diving, read a book, and cool off in the pool. There is a small gym that has enough to get a quick workout in, but we preferred a run or walk on the beach. We would absolutely not hesitate to recommend Hotel Basalto and we hope to return there again sometime soon!”
“Upon my arrival at the hotel, I had no clue where things were. I had to ask for directions, and eventually, everything was explained to me. There was a miscommunication in booking; the room I was assigned was not the one I had reserved. After discussing with the manager, I was transferred to a suite. Despite being advertised as all-inclusive, there was only one restaurant open at a time. Although I was informed there were four, only one was operational. Consequently, we were stuck with buffet meals for three days, with one day offering a different experience where someone took our orders. Nevertheless, all the staff were extremely kind and helpful, and the drinks were excellent. The property was very clean. The food and drinks at the beach bar were also great, with another set of excellent staff. Overall, I had a pleasant experience. However, I wished there were multiple restaurant options, especially since I booked the all-inclusive package with that expectation.”
“The views from the rooftop pool, and our room were exceptional, even from a second floor unit. We have stayed at the St. Regis, but the Ancora is a far better value with better views of the ocean. What is most important to me are the views, location and the quality of the rooms. The Ancora met all of the marks. Our room was very beautiful, clean, etc. It’s a little bit of a cross between a hotel and an Airbnb, and so there is no room service, housekeeping, or towel service, but there is a kitchenette and washer/dryer in the unit, which we really appreciated. There’s also food and drink service at the rooftop pool Tuesday-Sunday. I traveled alone with my three kids between the ages of 7 and 12. We did surfing lessons and rented paddle boards at Micttan Surf. The property is right next-door to a small beach, and another larger beach is less than a five minute walk. All of the best restaurants are right along the same strip within walking distance. We went to Pescadero for dinner multiple times.”
“I enjoyed my experience in this hotel - the staff was friendly and helpful, food was always fresh, all facilities were always clean. I didn't go to the beach as it didn't look like the beach you would normally spend your vacation on (big waves, zero people around, but someone can actually like it :) the "adults only" concept of the atmosphere had additional value for me, having the quite atmosphere. I would say that this is where people are looking for relaxation, not crazy partying :)
We arrived early in the morning and were invited by enjoy all benefits (restaurants, pools etc) before the check-in with no additional payment.”
