Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomLoud music late at night, both from the in-house restaurant (maybe not every night) and from neighbouring bars / clubs. Not a problem if you are joining in! Breakfast was one Turkish platter with no other options. It would be good to offer a choice of eggs, for example, which would satisfy the non-Turkish traveller, which most places do these days.
Lovely hotel in a good central location in the old town. Nice restaurant with good food and live Turkish music. Popular with locals.

United KingdomThe hotel pool looks beautiful, but is just for show. It’s in the middle of the restaurant so it’s not possible to actually use it. Some fixtures and fittings are a bit tired. Our shower window was barely in one piece and the shower could be a bit temperamental depending on water pressure across the hotel. The evening entertainment is good, but it’s loud and is on until midnight every day, so don’t plan on an early night and bare this in mind if you have kids that need to sleep. There is a private beach mentioned in the hotel facilities, but this is not correct. None of the hotels in Kaleici have private beaches, in fact Kaleici itself as a resort doesn’t have a beach as we would describe a beach!
Great location in the centre of the old town. Comfy bed, good breakfast and very pretty. Friendly, helpful staff who spoke English. Room cleaned every day to a good standard. TV, hair dryer and kettle in the room and complimentary bottles of water. Good evening entertainment with live music and belly dancers! The restaurant food is also very good.

United KingdomThe staff didn't allow you to have a guest in your room for any hour. It's difficult to drive and navigate the streets around the hotel. It was noisy at night as our room was next to a bar/ club and the windows were not sound proof.
The room was clean, and the staff was mostly friendly. Breakfast was nice.

United KingdomI was extremely disappointed with the breakfast. It was NOT BUFFET and they only gave enough to satiate one person. It was only 2 eggs and a bit of mushroom or sausage -like which is only enough for one grown adult. For more, you had to pay. There was only ONE POWER OUTLET in the room. To use the kettle we had to take the kettle to the other side of the room. The swimming pool was only open from 2-6pm and on some days it closed at 4pm for "cleaning". I don't understand why the cleaning could not have been done when the pool was closed. The staff were not helpful in organising excursions or for providing general recommendations.
The hotel was in a good location in the old city. The traditional feel was very nice and the it was nice to just sit in the open lobby. AC in the rooms was good. Rooms were clean and tidy and they also had a swimming pool

IsraelThe maintenance of the room needs improvement. We have problem with the lights in our room that goes on and off. The windows at our room are opening to the building itself, pretty useless.

South AfricaThat there was no free water or tea and coffee in the rooms like all the other hotels we stayed at.
Location great, close to main streets, close walk to Port, and bus, tram n restaurants all close by. The hotel has one too, but we didn't get to try ii as we returned very late at night from touring , but it was busy both nights so it has to be good. Live music played at premises, cool for young people, oldies to get ear plugs lol. Staff friendly and helpful. Room clean, neat. No water supplied by hotel, though rooms have full stock of cold drinks n water which is charged to room if u use it. Breakfast was simple turkish options served to you. Fresh and well served. Thank you for the pleasant stay.

United Statesstaff is a bit disorganized. I booked a room for two people for two nights knowing that my friend wouldn’t be joining until the second night. I told them this at check in. So when my friend showed up very late at night on the second night wanting to go to sleep after traveling for 26 hours, the staff could not understand that I wasn’t trying to add him to the existing booking and they tried to collect an extra payment even when I tried to explain that my friend was already on the booking. Eventually they finally understood me, but I had to raise my voice for them to finally listen. Also the room is quite cramped and could have been cleaner.
Great location!

TurkeyThe price which I was asked to pay upon check-in was more than when I booked (this case was resolved after I had sent my complaints to Booking). There was a cigarette smell in the room. I suppose nobody smoked in the room recently, it was more like a smell that has eaten into the walls, furniture and curtains. The chandelier is hung too low and I hit my head on it several times.
Central location, a garden inside the hotel's territory. Good breakfast (not 100% suitable for vegetarians, though).

IndiaNot much option for vegetarian breakfast. It was really sad that the restaurant manager ( I thought so he was the manager as he was leading the restaurant) was just not inclusive enough for vegetarians. One simple orange was asked and he said it will be charged where as 50% of breakfast was non vegetarian in their set breakfast pattern. No kettle in the delux room too was very surprising at the cost it was charged.
The property is at the center in a way where most of the things are at walking distance including Tram station, marina beach , three gates etc. Thankful to Miss Deniz who was at the reception and was extremely helpful in every front.
