Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe found a used condom wrapper in our room. We would have changed rooms had we not already unpacked everything for the weekend. The hotel staff was kind enough to give us free parking. I’m thankful for that as well since it’s an expensive $30/day from what I saw. Our shower gel in the shower was completely empty, so thankfully we had a small bottle we brought with us. My only other complaint is that you have to pay for WiFi usage unless you are a member. Everybody has free WiFi nowadays…It’s time to get with the times on that front. The rate for getting a room is expensive as it is. If I paid for everything I needed for our 2 night stay (just the room, internet, and parking mind you…), my bill would have been over $300. $150 per day is a bit steep if you ask me…
It was a convenient location to get to all the venues for my brother in law’s wedding. The beds are very comfortable. The showers are downright luxurious and wonderful.

United StatesWe arrived to find the rest of our family seated in the sectioned off corner of the bar with all the orange cushions. After we were there about 45 min we started to get up when a family member thought she saw a bug. When we pulled the cushion back we found a cockroach in the furniture. I was able to grab a glass and a menu and managed to take it back outside. We got up to the room and it was mid-high 70s. We cranked the AC, tried to relax, and headed down stairs to meet family again. When we got back that night the room was 73 degrees, the air coming out of the AC vent was not cold. We called the front desk and they sent someone up to look who responded quickly. He agreed that our AC was not working and told us he would check with the front desk for some options. Not only did we get new rooms, but we were still able to keep adjoining rooms. Between both rooms we were never able to get the temp below 72. The curtains in both rooms were closed when we came in, opened to see the view, then closed again to keep the sun/heat out.
The staff was positive, attentive, and completed/resolved minor issues we had. Our issues had nothing to do with the staff themselves. Two dozen of our family members were in town to finally intern my grandparents at Arlington, the last night there we were able to all have dinner together. Other restaurants we contacted were not able to handle such a large crowd.

United StatesOnly thing that was slightly wrong was I asked for rooms that were next to each other. But we were only 4 rooms apart so it was ok.
Staff was great and friendly. Rooms were large and spacious. Bathroom was awesome!! The shower head was magic. Only thing no tub for my little guy in the room we had. Check in and out was easy. So close to the DC metro made getting in to see the sights easy! Would stay here again and tell others to stay here!!

United StatesWe were charged and extra $30 a night to park at the hotel. I was unaware of this until check in. Wish i was given advance notice of this. Also, everywhere you go requires you to pay for more parking unless you take a taxi or something. Expect to pay for parking everywhere you go.
The room was very clean and exceeded my expectations. The shower was amazing. The hotel is located in a very cute little district with lots of parks, shopping and eateries. My family had so much fun and would highly recommend. Lots of walking though.

United StatesMy only complaint was that the AC was loud, but that seems pretty usual.
We had a great stay. The rooms were super clean and looked identical to the pictures. The bathrooms were nicely appointed and updated. The beds were comfy as well. I was super impressed with the staff. We had a very early arriving flight and requested early check in. We arrived at 8am fully expecting to check our luggage at the desk and return in the afternoon, but incredibly, they had a room ready for us! What a treat! The front desk answered questions and were very helpful. Location super close to the metro. Easy to get into DC or walk to shop and dine in Crystal City and Pentagon City!

United StatesThe entire pool area needs to be remodeled or updated. It was dark and dank. Reminded me of a scary movie Poltergeist.
We liked the restaurant on location. The food was surprisingly delicious and a great value. I loved the personalized message on the television. I loved the office work space on the M floor

United StatesParking and wifi was expensive! Normally wifi is included but not at the Marriott apparently. Also, the pillows aren't comfortable. They look soft and fluffy but as soon as you lay your head on them they get flat and hard.
Great location! Walking distance to lots of restaurants and bars. Tourist attractions in DC are only a few miles away. Staff were friendly and eager to help. Delicious food in the hotel restaurant.
