I liked the fact the hotel was right on the beach. Near to restaurants. Easy to get in and out off. Staff was absolutely fantastic.

There was a k-cup coffee maker in the room, but I would have liked a better way to heat water. Also, the description said there would be a microwave in the room, but there was not.

Right on the beach!! Chairs and tables arranged for watching the waves and sunsets. Staff super nice and helpful.

Really only the parking situation is complaint worthy. They simply don’t have enough parking spaces to accommodate all the rooms. The resulting juggling of cars to next door is okay but you have to give the office your car keys if you’re sent to the alternate area. And if you’re lucky enough to park in the regular lot, every time you leave to go eat or shop it’s likely that you will have lost your spot when you return.

Location is phenomenal. The outdoor spaces are beautifully appointed. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

The staff was exceptional, the house keepers, the male outside workers, the office girl were all smiley and delightful. Our room was sparkling clean and in perfect repair! Spotless, white bed linens, and towels were very comfortable. We will stay here again for a wonderful getaway.

We had a wonderful time after we resolved a few issues which we experienced in the first two days. The management was very accommodating and followed through with our requests. Overall we enjoyed our stay thoroughly and we can highly recommend the Del Mar Beach Hotel, especially gor its close proximity to the beach.

It would have been nice if it had a pool but who needs that when you have the ocean?

I loved the location. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly. The beach was steps away and the main street of Del Mar was within walking distance. It was a wonderful experience and we would definitely stay again if we are in the area!

the only thing to make it better would be a pool so you can swim in the pool as well but honestly it forced us to spend even more time at the beach was not a bad thing!

Coffee maker in lobby was out of order both days of our stay. It would have been nice if staff had gone to a nearby coffee shop to grab a couple of boxes of coffee instead of just apologizing.

I needed an iron, and would prefer a full shower door. Nothing major, and I could live without both.

Location was perfect! The town was so cute, with plenty of nearby restaurants and shops. It's close vicinity to San Diego. The room actually had housekeeping to refresh room daily. The beds were very comfortable. Lounge chairs and beach towels were provided. And if you book here you have to visit Richard walker pancake house, the have the best pecan baked pancake and its only 8 mins away. I'm ready to go back when it's hotter so I can enjoy getting in the water.

I really can't say there was anything we didn't like. The only items we would add to our "wish list" at this hotel would be 1: a microwave for the room (or even in the lobby) as we often had leftover food from dining out. 2. More towel hooks in the bathroom to hang towels and bathing suites - especially in the double queen room with 2 adults and 2 kids.

The hotel is directly on the beach and you can't beat the location. There are 2 great restaurants located next door and everything in town is walkable from this location. There is a wonderful community patio with tables, lounge chairs, and gas fireplaces that overlook the ocean and is a perfect place to watch sunsets and or have an evening gathering. Like everything in Del Mar, this hotel is not inexpensive BUT what I truly appreciated all the little extras that were included in the rate such as parking, a complimentary espresso machine and filtered water bottle filler in the lobby, a complimentary glass of wine at check-in, and complimentary use of beach chairs, umbrellas, and boogie boards! We also received DAILY Housekeeping which is very rare these days! The room was modern, spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. The staff and owners were super friendly and always helpful. We will definitely be back!!

Only con was the barn door on the bathroom. You could hear everything even with the door closed. We’ve been married for 25 years but for a newer couple, could make for some very uncomfortable moments!! Haha

Loved everything! Great location, literally 5 steps to the sand! Staff is so helpful, and the room was immaculate!! So much more than I expected!!

We have a small dog. Even though the beach is dog friendly, dogs are not allowed in the summer months. That was disappointing.

The location is fabulous. Right on the beach. Complimentary champagne was lovely. Really good restaurants walking distance. The bed was very comfy. Room was cleaned each day and the staff was very friendly.

Outdoor patio could be even better . But over all this place is great.

Loved the location on the beach. You can’t beat it. Morning coffee in the lobby and welcome glass of wine all great touches. It would be awesome if they could add a snack bar and maybe drink service on their beach patio and or live music. It would take it all to another level while still keeping the relaxed vibe.

The only thing I would change is there is no in room microwave. I was told recently by someone, I should ask for one at the front desk.

From the front staff, Jessica and Drake, to the housekeeping/maintenance crew, Lourdes, Gabriel, Oscar, and Maria, it was 5 STARS the entire week. The best place to stay in Del Mar. Right on the beach, close to restaurants and shopping. You don't need to drive anywhere once you arrive. You can walk everywhere. The perfect vaca.
