Accommodation in Morro

I absolutely adored everything about Barracudamaio. Mona and Christophe have worked so hard to create a beautiful space for an exceptional travel experience. It's very close to a secluded beach where you can relax and have some alone time, as well as see the incredible turtles (with Christophe as your guide). I was taught upon arrival how to take a 'bulea' (free ride) with the locals, so very easy (and safe for solo female travellers) to catch a lift to the next town. The accommodation is exceptional in itself and is well thought out with sustainability in mind and furnished beautifully. They both shared their story over delicious dinners (thank you, Mona) about their journey in building Barracudamaio, and I think it's such a beautiful way to live and to help travellers understand the integrity behind creating a sustainable and welcoming space like theirs. Mona and Christophe are such wonderful people with a lot of life experience, and I am so glad to have had the chance to meet them on my travels. Oh and I love their two dogs, Lulu and Irmã. I am returning for my second stay next week - looking forward to seeing them all again! :)

Top top property!! This was, without a doubt, one of the most outstanding properties I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. It exceeded every expectation and made my trip to Maio unforgettable. ​The owners truly set this property apart. From the moment I checked in with Aksana, I felt genuinely welcomed. Kevin and Aksana were attentive, professional, and incredibly helpful, providing me with excellent recommendations for local restaurants and hidden beaches. Their personalized touch made a huge difference. The location is perfect. I had a breathtaking view of the ocean and lovely skyline right from my window/balcony. It was simultaneously peaceful and quiet, yet perfectly situated within the main Avenue making it the ideal base for exploring the area. ​it has 3 bedrooms and the one I stayed in, a large suite was immaculately clean and beautifully designed. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom fixtures were high quality, and the small touches — like the massive 75 inch TV with cable channels and high-speed Wi-Fi - really stood out. Everything worked perfectly. I highly recommend and I would happily pay this price again for such a high-quality experience. Obrigado Kevin and Aksana!

This property is exceptionally well located and well-equipped for a short or even longer-term stay! The apartment is decorated beautifully and has all the amenities you could possibly need. Isolinda was extremely responsive and check in and check out was extremely smooth.

I loved the house, it was very well decorated and made you feel at home. It was cleaned every day. The best hotel in May. The only negative point that really bothered me was the internet problems.

The Suite room was much better than expected. All very clean and appropriate. Ample space. Beds very comfortable. Small balcony with view to the Salinas and port. Food in the restaurant was awesome, super yummy, both the meat and the fish.l, but also the pizzas. Staff is very nice people and you feel like at home. I also rented quads from them for a one-day tour of the island. No problems. I would no doubt repeat again.

It was right across from the beautiful beach and ocean. Very conveniently located near restaurants and shops.

Franklin and his family are very open and friendly, we even got picked at the harbour to take us to the Appartement. The house is a little bit on the outskirts of town, but this makes it very quiet and gives a nice rural feeling. Anything we needed the Host was ready to give or help us. We could use the Appartement the whole day of our check out and Franklin gave us a ride to the harbour again. Thanks for the very nice stay!

Simple and easy, Xavier was always available and the appartment is located in a quiet street. Wifi works ok, the courtyard is very chill.

It was an absolute pleasure to stay at Torre Sabina. It gives you the feeling that you are at a friend's place. Sabina and her team are very kind and helpful and their breakfast and dinner are delightful. In their fantastic garden you will find yourself in the midst of nature (complete with adorable pets), two steps from the ocean, in a peace and tranquility that you will be missing afterwards, whereas the (very clean) room has everything you need, bed is very comfortable. We will be back!

Nice hotel, with a good central location. 5-10 mins from the beach, bank, port and there are 2 supermarkets closeby. Comfortable bed, nice rooms although shower is a bit small (i hardly fit through the door, and im not that big 😂) its been nicely cleaned daily, and towels changed daily. Very nice 2 nights in Maio, would go back!! Check-in/check out really easy and smooth.

The Apt: Top notch! High quality fittings, copious hotwater, perfect WiFi, well-supplied kitchen with all appliances, 4 bunk-beds, one double bed, great location 3min walk to beach and main road, 2 balconies with full view of sea and the beach, AC worked well, the apt was spotless on arrival. The Experience: Just as good! Met at ferry with complimentary shuttle service, afterwards super friendly Ignaciao with perfect English met as at nearby hotel-reception and accompanied us to the apt and showed everything. Both he and the owner were available by whatsapp and responded to our inquiries swiftly. To top it all off, the owner allowed us a (very) late checkout. We will stay here next time and every time we are in Maio!!
