We didn't have breakfast. Our two hosts were kind and helpful, responding well to a couple of requests. The property is really interesting, our studio was rustic, interesting and very comfortable, we were shown the other apartment which is stunning, they are very talented decorators. At the front of the buildings is their own brocante with some great pieces and inside it has a laid back coffee lounge with good chairs and sofas. All in all a super place to stay.

As research-focussed academics from the UK researching life in the Loire region, the house, with its location in a forested area in the country, the peace and privacy, served us very well. We were able to access the Canal d’Orléans nearby, as well as the Loire River itself, focussing on Sully-sur-Loire and its rich, magnificent chateau, within reasonable driving distance of the house. A drive on quiet roads along the Loire itself brought us to charming little towns and hamlets, many rich in medieval history and architecture. The house itself was well-located, clean and comfortable with 2 large bedrooms with ample space for our work desks as well as for self-catering and dining. Siting out to enjoy the sunset and sunrise, as well as observing the rich bird life around, were added bonuses. There was ample space for parking within the grounds.

Set just 16 km from Chateau de Sully-sur-Loire, CAMPING ETANG DES BOIS provides accommodation in Vieilles-Maisons-sur-Joudry with access to an open-air bath, a garden, as well as full-day security.

everything. it is like staying in a farytale . the interior is as original as the exterior beatiful atmosphere very comfortable with any eye for detail that makes you want to never leave the place. the breakfast is outside and fantastic. The garden behind the house is filled with vegetables grapes, peaches and othe fruit. the host is a wonderfull and service minded person. we stavel a lot but this one has a AAA++ score on our list.

Eric welcomed us to this remarkable old house (where he and his family used to live before they built a new house behind). We were very comfortable, using the kitchen to self-cater (although Eric does offer dinner if required), and eating on the shady terrace (with a pergola which was perfect for bike storage and maintenance)
