Accommodation in Keruo

The location is to die for - such a pristine, secluded beach, at the same time not far from the village. Ingrid, the lady that runs this homestay, was very helpful and spoke very good English. She really made all the effort to accommodate all of our wishes, super friendly. When we run off of internet data, she called her friend in waisai to buy some for us, when she went to waisai to bring some groceries she brought back some beers for us - in general she was very thoughtful.

Beautiful homestay at a unique spot (incredible sunsets) with a very caring family and two cute kids! Good and plenty food and clean. Amazing location for snorkeling directly in front. Watch sharks and squid hunting from the jetty or see the huge coconut crabs. The friendly owner is also a skilled boatsman and brought us safely through very rough seas. Communication works fine even with just a few words of english (by help of google translate and gestures). Good base for Pyainemo, Fam Wall and Rufas island (+Mellis Garden). Thanks for having us!!!

We stayed at Fam Homestay and it was a wonderful experience. Here you really feel like you are staying with a real local family. They are very kind, welcoming, and make you feel at home. The beach here is incredibly beautiful. There are bungalows over the water, a lovely shoreline with a reef, and a pier where you can swim and jump into the ocean. The food was very delicious and always freshly prepared. We also highly recommend taking excursions from here. We joined the manta trip and were lucky to see around 10 manta rays, which was an unforgettable experience. We also visited Piaynemo, which was absolutely stunning. Overall, it was a very special stay in a beautiful place.

We were the first ever guests to Fam Wall Homestay and we are grateful and happy we trusted our guts and stayed here. The family is lovely, pricing of the homestay is far below comparable offerings in the area, you'll get 4 meals a day, trips to Piaynemo, Rufas and the famous snorkel spots are also fairly priced and the house reef feels like a maze of wonders and life itself already. Please be aware of the tides, they bring plastic sometimes, and the family tries to clean the oceans. Support them!

Very close to Piaynemo and Rufas and Melissa's garden, and right in front, you have a rich biodiversity. The host made me feel welcome and comfy 😊

The best homestay we’ve ever stayed at! We were absolutely delighted with this homestay. Everything is done with so much care and attention—the space is incredibly clean, well-maintained, and welcoming. The food is simply amazing, prepared with dedication and full of flavor. The family running the homestay is incredibly friendly. Although they don’t speak English, they use translation apps to communicate, and if their nephew is on vacation, it’s very easy to communicate in English. Tomás, who manages the homestay, is fantastic! He made sure to take us to all the places we wanted to visit and even offered us a boat tour around the area on our last day—a wonderful gesture! The bungalow is simple but cozy, equipped with a large fan and a mosquito net, ensuring a comfortable and restful stay. The location couldn’t be better, with sea views on both sides of the island and breathtaking sunsets that are truly magical. The homestay is completely isolated, offering the perfect environment for tranquility and relaxation, despite being very well located close to key spots. Speaking of location, must-visit spots like Pyanemo, Tugas Island, and Melissa Garden are just 5-10 minutes away by boat. The only downside is the lack of network coverage at the homestay, so it’s important to plan all your activities and dives in advance if they’re not directly arranged with the homestay. The bathroom is simple but super clean. The shower is traditional, using a bucket, but it’s surprisingly pleasant. If you’re looking for diving experiences, we highly recommend Pam’s Divers. They are slightly farther away, but they are extremely professional and friendly, making the experience even better. An unforgettable experience—we highly recommend it!

The homestay is not bad, the food is good too. The bungalows are appropriate for this place, there is even a private toilet. The bungalows is right on the beach.

We stayed in Marlina homestay for 4 night at the end of March. Everything there was really nice and it was more than we expected. First they were waiting for us in Waisai harbor and transferred us to the homestay. This was very easy to organize with them. During our stay we went to 3 tours for snorkeling and sightseeing with them. Again everything was very well organized. There were always 2 people on the boat and one of them was constantly in the water with us and the other one was following us with the boat. They showed a lot of care for us. The trips also start early in the morning and having in mind we are close to everything there we were basically alone whenever we went, including Pyianemo. Rooms were nice as well, we had electricity the whole they during our stay, which we didn’t expect. There is also WiFi with Starlink, so the internet was good, which we also didn’t expect. The food there was also nice. My favorites were the breakfasts :). We had breakfast, lunch and dinner, and also afternoon snack. On the way back they transferred us directly to our next stay. Overall the owners are really nice people, who take care of their guests.
