We stayed for 2 nights at Ruma Kaca, Tiolina’s beautiful “house of glass” in Simanindo, and it was truly special. The view over Lake Toba, the lush garden full of flowers and plants, and even the small Batak culture museum make this place unforgettable. Tiolina is an exceptional host, incredibly kind and helpful. She arranged a driver to show us around the island and gave great advice for taking the ferry. The food was delicious, and nothing was ever too much to ask. The location is outstanding, and if you get the chance, ask her to sing! Her traditional Batak songs accompanied by her slightly out-of-tune piano only add to the charm of this magical place.

I really love how fast the staff responds us. We came late in the evening, around 10 pm. Then, we asked if it was possible to upgrade the room as we thought the booked room was not that spacious of 4 of us. They only added 100k for bigger and better room which is really good price. The room is so nice, very clean, and the bed is quite spacious as well

the place was clean but have unpleasant smell. the water was dirty have algae on the tub. I'm glad that we checked out super early (4:00am)

I love the entire experience. The personal was so professional and good, the room was awesome and it had a good bed. I liked how clean the entire hotel was, the service quality was top notch. The food was good. Car parking was easy and I was helped even if there as difficulties. The view out of the hotel to anywhere was beautiful. I will be returning for sure.

A beautiful homestay on the shore on Samosir island, with rooms overlooking a garden and the lake Toba. The rooms are very comfortable and peaceful. Dimmer, the owner, is very friendly and helpful, and very responsive on Whatsapp. He helped me arrange transfers from Medan airport and to Berastagi, and picked me up from the Parapat ferry by car. It is also possible to rent scooters to explore Samosir on your own. Overall, I had a fantastic stay, also as a woman travelling alone, and I only regret not staying longer !

Good host (Dong&Siska) for being so informative on suggesting where to go,where to take a ferry,they also provide bike rental.The room is nice and in front of the stay got a good cafe for me to find for breakfast,lunch or dinner..those solo traveller might like it because the cafe got live band performance twice a week and I didn't mind the noise coming for it honestly because I can still manage to sleep peacefully safe and sound due to the whole day spent moving around the island😂
