Accommodation in Cong

Good comfortable hotel in the centre of town serving tasty pub meals. Only a short walk to the John Wayne statue and the old abbey and castle. I really enjoyed my stay.

Very nice location, nice lively bistro type bar downstairs, absolutely cracking breakfast. What staff we did meet were very helpful and friendly.

Location, service and value. Wonderful breakfast included. Best value on our whole trip from London to Edinburgh through to Dublin. Close to Ashford Castle to be able to explore the castle grounds and the Cong village. Can do the quiet man tours here as well.

Lovely villa situated on the grounds of Ashford Castle and minutes away from food and attractions at Cong. Irish full breakfast supplied for 3 persons to kick off the stay.

It was clean and well equipped with 4 large bedrooms, parking right outside the door, it was a couple of minute walk to the village and ashford castle with beautiful walks in every direction 😁 the owner was very accommodating and answered all our questions she was so helpful before and during our stay

At our 20th trip to Ireland, we found ourselves staying at the Salmon Weir Lodge in Cong, and the experience was excellent. Our hostess, Rachael, provided a warm welcome that immediately made us feel at home. Her friendliness stood out, enhancing the quality of our stay. The rooms were both clean and tastefully decorated. The furnishings were comfortable, giving the space a homey feel. The common area also met our expectations. It featured comfortable seating and a pleasing atmosphere, serving as an inviting space to relax after a day of exploring the surrounding area. Unlike some places that offer a standard or limited range of options regarding the breakfast, the Salmon Weir Lodge went above and beyond. The Irish Breakfast casserole for example was a delightful touch that set this place apart from the average bed-and-breakfast. I still need to ask for the recipe. ;) In addition to the physical amenities, we enjoyed the social aspect of our stay. We found ourselves engaged in enjoyable and meaningful conversations with other guests, both during breakfast and in the evenings. These interactions added a layer of richness to our experience, making our stay more than just a simple lodging arrangement. Overall, we were more than satisfied with our time at the Salmon Weir Lodge. The attention to detail, the quality of service, and the exceptional amenities make this place highly recommendable. We had a fantastic stay! The breakfast was excellent, fresh, delicious and a great way to start the day. Mary was incredibly nice, welcoming and always ready to help with anything we needed. The entire place was clean and very well-maintained. The room was comfortable and cozy. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this place.

A beautiful cottage on the stunning grounds of Ashford castle. Gerard and Patricia were brilliant hosts from start to finish even leaving us some ingredients in the fridge so we could make an Irish breakfast! The cottage has everything you could need. The perfect location and only a 30 min drive to Galway or Westport. The best place to stay in Cong 😊
