If you are looking for a grand experience in a historic property - this is the place. What made this property exceptional is attention to detail such as lighting of the room, freshly made espresso, foot bath overlooking the garden, a massage chair, amongst others. The food was splendid, the service is polite and staff treats you with care. The experience felt elevated as compared to other ryokans I was staying.

Location is convenient for tourists. The villa is beautiful. It's so cozy with the hammock near the window, the comfortable traditional tatami rooms and the lovely welcome gifts we liked very much. Garden, kitchen, bathroom, everything is spotless.

What a lovely spacious and peaceful place to stay. We loved our time here. The rooms are big, there is a small kitchen and lounge and everything worked well. Big beds too. The room was on 2 levels so the steep stairs were the only minor challenge. The location was great. 5 mins to the start of the Kotohira hill climb, 10 mins from both stations and convenience stores. The design is lovely and there are 2 stores connected to the accomodation - a cafe and a bagel shop. Note that are closed on Tues and Weds. Can’t really comment on staff as it is all contactless, but responses to msgs on Booking.com were prompt. Recommend taking the electric train to Takamatsu from here- lovely trip on some cool trains.
