This is a beautiful riad on the outskirts of Milan, with a real country feel. The house is surrounded by a smallholding which has orange and olive trees, chickens and even a peacock. We arrived very late, feeling rather apologetic, after a long day, but were made to feel very welcome. Our host was extremely helpful the following morning, showing us to a small wayside car mechanic who was able to do a full repair to the wheel mounting of our 35 year old Peugeot with little difficulty.

The setting was spectacular. We were unlucky with the weather so we didn’t get to use our private pool but we loved the camel ride activity. The highlight was the staff, particularly Hamzah who. Could not do enough for us.

Sounds like you want this tightened up into This place is incredibly picturesque and peaceful. The kind of setting that forces you to slow down. The real highlight, though, is the staff. Warm, genuinely friendly, and always smiling. It was a pleasure being around them. We stayed in the king room and it’s essentially glamping on steroids. One side is draped with rug-style curtains, giving it that authentic desert feel, while the bed and lounge area were seriously comfortable. You’re immersed in nature without sacrificing comfort. The stars at night are unreal, properly jaw-dropping. There’s no WiFi and electricity is limited; you can only charge devices or get reception in the main area. Personally, I loved the forced digital detox. The food was traditional Moroccan, done very well and generous portions. We stayed two nights and had three meals, and left very well fed each time. The pool areas are wildly beautiful and blend perfectly into the landscape. Ideal stay: 2–3 nights. Enough to unwind.
