The castle was well preserved, the hospitality amazing, our room breathtaking( the knights room). Once in a lifetime experience.. that we aspire to repeat in the future. Feeling like a knight yourself, you could touch, see and smell past centuries architecture and atmosphere. We were lucky enough ti go on a windy day so we could also listen to the wind from the towers windows, it was like a movie, awesome beyond our imagination. I wanted to stay awake all night just to admire the beautiful room’s architecture. We loved everything about our stay, even the hosts, who were extremely friendly and sweet. No words can describe this experience, we are looking forward to share the news with our friends. Thank you for everything

It was in a forest, a very well equipped, stylish, good quality and peaceful. The tea and coffee with some cookies makes a nice welcome feeling, the beds were extremely big and comfortable,there are all the appliances needed, clean and cosy.

I absolutely loved everything about this place. The interior is really beautiful and the apartment is equipped with everything you might need. The bed is super comfortable and there is so much space in the place, I could’ve stayed for weeks. You can walk to the train station and the connection to Utrecht is really good.

The location was amazing, right at the edge of the forest. The house was also really idyllic with a beautiful wooden architecture and a porch perfect to drink coffee on. Cooking amenities were a bit lacking, but that was negated by their amazing grill of which we made extensive use. The hostess was also really nice, even though we didn't have a lot of contact, she would still answer fully and on time. All together, this house has exceeded all expectations, and expectations were already high to begin with!

Beautifully decorated en-suite room with access to kitchen facilities. Lovely toiletry products provided. Option to have breakfast provided or you can use the fridge, crockery etc and prepare your own. Lydia is a great host. The location is excellent for countryside cycling and also taking the bus into the vibrant city of Utrecht.

Great beds, comfortable and big. The pillows were a bit too high for my liking though. Private and clean. Would definitely recommend for even longer stays. Very beautiful area around as well, so great for disconnecting from city life.

Beautiful grounds to explore. Lovely breakfast room with good food choices. Single rooms are a bit small and basic but ok for a one night stay. Would book a double room in the new building next time. Easy to hire bikes to explore the town. Staff were helpful.

Kasteel Sterkenburg was a dream! We were made to feel at home straight away by our wonderful hosts. The Kasteel and it’s surroundings are nothing short of breathtaking. Inside, we were mesmerised by all the art and artifacts with plenty a good book to peruse. Breakfast was divine and nothing was too much trouble for our comedic and charismatic hosts. We will treasure the memory of our stay always. Thank you to all the Kasteel Sterkenburg family. Dutch hospitality at full power. Love Lauren & Rob

Stay in the new buildings 8 and 9 which are architecturally very unique. Massive full width window - openable, overlooking a green tree and fields. Side views of the conference facilities. Excellent parking and the chance to walk the property. Super breakfast in a nearby building as restaurant. And the clincher in buildings 8 and 9 is each room has a named theme with a wooden case inside with related books. Last year it was Orlando and of course, Virginia Wolff.
