I love my room! I love the entire property. Shoutout to the staff, Godfrey for amazing food, Daudie and Winnie for great service! Great location, very close to my dive centre.

It is a beautiful place, a lot of activities - daily excursions (staff even tried to organize it just for us), diving (different reefs), snorkeling, massages, everything. Food is amazing, prices are reasonable. Very peaceful, nice, calm and great send camp. Staff was also amazing, we were three young girls, felt safe and really enjoyed our last days of Tanzania.

Very beautiful amazing place, very nice and helpful staff. They were not disturbing but helped a lot even with a tiny problems which we were about to tolerate. It is a best place to stay on Mafia

Everything was excellent. Nice room, good food, service better than good and near to the marin park. A lot to to and excellent guides. Peace and quite.

Meremata and the staff were very helpful and attentive, always anticipating what you might need and able to help out with any request apt tasks I had on the island from getting massage to booking plane tickets to getting transport.

Basecamp is a beautiful place to stay on Mafia Island! The property is so stunning with views of the ocean and access to the beach. Our stay was very comfortable with lovely beds and bedding, our room was very clean and recently updated. The staff were all extremely welcoming and tended to our every need. We were greeted with a coconut to drink out of upon arrival as well as some local fruits. The breakfast was great with freshly made eggs however you like. The lunches and dinners were also really tasty. There is a bar at the pool, beach and restaurant which was convenient. The pool has a nice view of the ocean as well. The shuttle service from the airport was timely and convenient. We saw whale sharks snorkeling! We had our laundry done and folded, which was great. Our room was upgraded free of charge as there was availability, which was such a nice surprise as it has never happened to us before. Overall an amazing stay at a beautiful hidden gem, book it!!

We have visited East Africa over a dozen times, including many islands off the coasts of Tanzania and Kenya. Chole Island is truly unique. Chole Mjini is an excellent destination for those seeking a quiet retreat amidst magnificent nature. There are no cars on the island, but there is an abundance of bird species. Nature is literally within arm's reach-whether you are staying in comfortable, open-air treehouses built into baobabs or swimming with whale sharks in the ocean. The Chole Mjini resort serves excellent, diverse cuisine. Meals are enjoyed in various settings, such as at the edge of the mangrove forest or amidst the picturesque, ficus-covered ruins of an 18th-century fort. Guests can expect friendly, competent service, and the local residents of this small island are very welcoming. The entire resort is very clean.

Lovely small property with very personal service, really great standard of accommodation, big room, great shower, nice pool, extremely accommodating staff. Excellent overall. Dive equipment is new and dive service also excellent.
