We stayed at Ploughman‘s Rest for 3 nights and absolutely enjoyed it. The villa is very comfortable and nicely decorated. Daleen was just wonderful and spoiled us with a great breakfast and the best typical South African dinner every day. We enjoyed her ideas for exploring the surroundings a lot as well as talking to her about the farm. Ploughman“s Rest was the best place to start our roundtrip through the northeastern regions of South Africa. We would love to come back next time and highly recommend Ploughman“s Rest when visiting the Blyde River Canyon region

All meals were excellent - it was a quieter time of the year for the Lodge, so there was not the buffet offering each day, but the a la carte selection was great. The accommodation was very nice, and the views from our room, and the dining/lounge area are amazing

The hotel is located in the nature area, it’s very calm and peaceful. The staff is friendly, the room is spotless. There is a braai zone just outside the room so you can cook for yourself. The location is very convenient if you want to visit the canyon Blyde, it’s just 20 km to the viewpoint Three rondavels. And the cutest thing in the place is the host’s dog, a female Lea. She went to us in the morning to say “Hello”

The place is so clean, it's quiet and the staff is so friendly. A lady came and offered to do our laundry it was really nice. Oh the bed was so comfortable. It's really beautiful, the photos really doesn't do a place justice... That place is nice. I'm definitely going to be staying here again for our next church conference
