Sonia is a brilliant host and makes you feel at home right from the start. She connected me with a guide for hike up the volcano. The breakfast pastry, the desserts were really nice. And Ze drove me from and to the aerodrome and helped bridging the language barrier.

Perfect place to stay in fogo Joao and Lea are excellent hosts They found a guide ( last minute ) to climb fogo in Jan 1st Breakfast is very good with home made cakes !

Great place to sip cocktails by the pool. A great place to stay after hiking the volcano and just doing nothing. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The little town within the crater is a very special place and Casa Helena was the perfect place for us to stay. Communication in advance was already great because our questions about transfer and guide were immediately answered in a very friendly way. We were picked up at the airport in the morning and dropped in Sao Felipe for a stroll where we also bought some snacks. Around midday we were then taken to the accommodation. The drive was a public aluguer which made the transfer so much cheaper and the drives in the aluguers were always highlights during our time on Cabo Verde! We also already met our guide Marcello for the Volcano hike and he was great, too. Good English, super friendly and flexible. We were able to ask him all our questions! And listening to the stories of the 2014 eruption as well as life at such a special place was very valuable. We stayed for a few nights and it was one of the most impressive places on earth that we have ever seen. We really enjoyed going running, hiking, strolling and biking (we rented bikes at the Marisa hotel which was expensive but the bikes were incredibly good). The room was in one of the traditional round houses with a bathroom and had everything that we needed! Also the food was delicious and everyone was wonderful and friendly!! Thank you so much for this absolute highlight of our holiday and for taking such good care of us! An additional plus: the CHA wine! So good!

Portela is a small village in the heart of the caldera. Ciza and Rose have built a house where a few basic but characteristic rooms face an internal place where breakfast and dinner are served. The place is simple but very clean and perfect for a few nights in an unbelievable place. You will get to know how these proud and strong people rebuilt their village after the last eruption (2014) and how they make their life there. Rose will guide you to the top of pico de fogo if you like, or he will organize a tour for you. He can recommend a wine testing close by. The wine is produced in fogo and it’s good!!! Go! You cannot regret!

The efficiency and hospitality of Laetitia and her staff. She suggested and arranged a two day hiking program for us. Food is good too. Casa Alcindo is the perfect base camp in Cha.

First off: the landscape is just amazing, feels pretty surreal. The round-shaped "funco" is so cool, we loved it! There is also a patio with a hammock which overlooks such stunning views. Everything was very clean. The host, Du, and his family (the staff) are super friendly and helpful :) We had a nice dinner there and I can definitely recommend to taste some of their wines. Also breakfast was good, and we appreciated the fact that they were available to serve it also very early in the morning to accommodate our transportation needs.

The location is perfect. Right at the start for the hike to Fogo. The location in booking is (as of today) not correct, its right in the center of the village. But the owners are superfriendly and can send you the details via WhatsApp. I arrived late because I was hiking till sunset and he waited outside on the street, and after check in I got a really delicious meal. The room has 3 comfy beds, enough plugs to charge and extra blankets. The bathroom is modern and has a shower (unlucky only with cold water). In the main building there are tables and chairs and a small bar. There is beer, wine, softdrinks, water.... Everything is clean and the WiFi works great. Breakfast is included, but I didn't use it as I was out hiking. From the house you have perfect views of Fogo. I can really recommend this place.
