La Maison Joly is the best place I stayed in Provence so far. The village Ménerbes was almost as charming as the famous Gordes. The apartment was lovely and spacious in the quiet area. The old house with a lot of books had a history of its own and the host Vincent had a corresponding charisma. Séverine prepared wonderful breakfast. No TV screen in the apartment was a real bonus.

Very close to the center of Roussillon which is a beautiful village close to Gordes .

I would definitely want to stay here again when I come to the area.

The property is as described in the listing but the photos don’t do it justice. The host - Gilles- was fantastic and made sure I was able to access the building and my room out of hours. He also made great recommendations for places to visit and to dine in the area and we had great conversations over an equally good breakfast spread. While there is no parking on site, the property is one minute walk away from a public parking lot and the area felt very safe. It is also very close to the train station and city centre which are great conveniences in a small town. There are no elevators in the property but there are two lovely studio apartments on the ground floor if accessibility is a concern. I would very likely stay here again as a base for visiting Provence.
