We stayed just one night at LAMP LIGHT BOOKS HOTEL Nagoya to rest before our Ghibli Park visit, and it was absolutely worth it! The hotel is beautifully designed, calm, and perfect for book lovers. We were especially charmed by the book-themed concept, it made the stay feel thoughtful and inspiring. I’m even more motivated now to improve my Japanese so I can enjoy some of the books next time! We were able to walk to almost everywhere we wanted to see in the city from the hotel. Maybe it's because we love walking, but still, the location is truly great!

Established in 1936, Nagoya Kanko Hotel is located in the downtown area of Sakae and offers rooms with free wired internet, a fitness centre and a beauty salon. Beautiful old-school hotel originally built in the 30s, loved the classic design and common spaces! Convenient to a nearby subway station, use exit 10 if you will be carrying luggage as it’s the only one with an elevator. Fantastic in-house bakery where I was able to get Christmas cake, and loved the change of an Italian breakfast buffet!

There was air conditioning for every room, including the living/dining/kitchen, which worked effectively although the weather was very hot (up to 36C during the day). Most importantly for me, the house had a car parking lot.
