What I especially appreciated: • Instead of tap water, you can drink natural well water from Morioka – in fact, two different kinds, freely available for guests to collect. • The building has great character, as it was built by reusing wood from older traditional houses. • The owner is very kind and welcoming, which made my stay feel warm and personal. • Compared to other guesthouses, this one sets high standards for cleanliness and hygiene, so everything feels very well maintained. • The location is excellent, with restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance. Overall, Tototo is not just accommodation, but a place where you can truly feel the spirit of connection and community. Highly recommended.

It is a very convenient that there’s indoor spring pool. The food was very good, we stayed 2 nights, and they changed the menu. I even think they upgraded. I love traditional spring hotel. The service is person to person feel very warm.

We had a truly wonderful time staying at GETO House. Our host, Koko awaited our arrival to explain the use of all the facilities in the property. He was also there at the end of our stay to say goodbye to us. He was also very quick to address our concerns and immediately brought extra curtains over when we requested them. The property is just a short walk from an onsen too, just remember that you'll have to bring your own towels before entering it. After a conversation with Koko, we were also treated to a very nice surprise of some snow, despite it being April, further up the mountain from GETO House where there is a ski resort. Koko let us borrow a sled and we got to enjoy some sledding on the snow. The property was homey and very cosy for us. The large kotatsu in the living area was so helpful to keep us warm. Providing bottled water as an alternative to those who might not be used to drinking/using hot spring water (which was what came out the taps) was an excellent form of hospitality as well. We will definitely come to stay again in the winter months!
