Everything was very clean, the facilities were modern and well-equipped, and I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The personnel is very kind and helpful. I greatly appreciated the possibility to borrow a well-maintained good quality road bike. The island is a cycling paradise.

The temple grounds and buildings were really lovely, the common area for guests atmospheric and homely. The inn section of the temple has only two rooms which are modern and well-appointed with very comfortable beds and air-conditioning. The bathroom and toilet facilities are shared but also very clean and modern. The head priest " Miura san" and his assistant were both lovely, as was their gorgeous dog " Kai" an " Akita inu". ( If you don't like dogs or are scared of bigger dogs than I would find somewhere else to stay. ) Was really a great experience to hear the morning bells being rung, accompanied by the singing Kai! Guests have the option to participate in the morning Buddhist prayers and breakfast. We did this once. It was a good experience, but the brekky might not be to everyone's liking. There is a "Lawson's" convenience store a very short drive away, so very easy to pick up extra snacks and coffee there.

The room we stayed is called "Kura" with an ancient storage design integrated with the room. The breakfast is great with local ingredients and a beautiful bento carrier. The host also helped us to book dinner and make changes for our ferry tickets.
