It was a beautiful welcome! We were offered tea from their cinnamon plantation! The house over looks rice plantations, such a beautiful scenery to wake up to! They arranged our dinner, arranged our safari with a very good guide which we had the chance to see almost all animals in the national park. They prepared our breakfast for the safari as well! Clean spacious rooms with pressurised hot water! Couldn’t ask for anything better!

Everything was amazing. The room was nice, clean and air conditioned with a comfortable bed and a great bathroom. The brothers that run the place are great and can’t do more for you. The food was fantastic and they also organised a safari for us which was seamless and successful (saw 4 leopards!)

With pool views, Tranquil Wild is located in Tanamalwila and has a restaurant, room service, snack bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace.

Pure magic at Sahana retreat. Peace and quiet and animals. Including lots of birds. Excellent food, romantic atmosphere. Lovely campfire. Nice lighting (which means it is not bright white lights). Games, hammocks. Just the best place in Sri Lanka to stay for a few days. Lovely river for a swim.

My stay exceeded all expectations. The room was beautiful and spotless, with a particularly lovely bathroom. The location is great — just a 10–15 minute walk to town. The host and his family were extremely welcoming and helpful, and they even helped arrange a safari, which was an amazing experience.

We are so happy we chose this property for our stay in Katharagama. For the past 9 years, we stayed at the same hotel every year, but this time we decided to move to a new place — and I honestly think it was a great decision. The hotel is newly built, with a lovely, well-maintained garden. The atmosphere was extremely calm and peaceful — perhaps because it's still new and there weren't many guests — but that made our stay even more relaxing and enjoyable. The rooms are huge and very spacious. The bathroom was also very clean and well-kept. A special highlight was the Chinese restaurant. The food was really, really good — tasty, flavorful, and I believe truly authentic Chinese dishes. We truly loved our stay and are already planning to come back next year. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Yala Thaman hosts like no other that we have seen so far. In a nice quiet area, you can relax in air conditioned rooms or move over to the dining area and enjoy the climate of Kataragama. In close proximity to Kataragama city we were easily able to access the city and other local attractions through the taxi service that is offered with your room fee. The beautiful family that owns the hotel were always happy to drop everything to help out with anything that you might need. Would recommend 10/10

We had an incredible 3-day stay at Sam's Stay. The hospitality was exceptional. Very nice room, great breakfast and the dinner was exactly what we wanted. Sam's Café is a peaceful oasis overlooking a gorgeous lake. A highlight was the tour of Sam's impressive garden. Big thanks to Sam and his family for everything!
