THIS is the place to go if you want an authentic, relaxed but adventurous experience. From the first moment on we felt welcome. The staff made sure to care well for us. The food was delicious and the opportunies for activities was perfect. We did kayaking in a nearby lake, did a jungle hike and a safari in Yala block 5 & 6. At night we even played songs on the guitar. Would recommend this place!

Huge beautiful tent with extremely comfy bed. The bathroom was amazing, hot outdoor shower. The lodge is set in gorgeous grounds. Fab pool!

We had a great time at Thomasha's Guesthouse. The location is very convenient south of Wellawaya. Easy access from the main road - but far enough from the traffic noise. Thomasha and his wife took care if us. A friendy couple - fluent in Englisch and even speaking some Deutsch. We had booked an evening meal and received a delicious vegetarian rice & curry! The room was not luxurious but big enough with good beds and beautiful sheets. Air conditioning and fan. A clean place. We can really recommend the place with wonderful owners, great food and a proper room.

With garden views, River Cottage is located in Wellawaya and has a restaurant, a shared lounge, bar, garden and terrace. Both WiFi and private parking are available at the lodge free of charge.

Lovely host family. Upon arrival they were quick to offer us tea and biscuits, setting up a table outside our room. We had a lovely discussion with them in the evening, and they gave us mangos and bananas from their tree :)

The calmness of this place was exceptional. Even though you were close to the restaurant hut and other huts, you still felt peacefully secluded. The walk around the lake at sunset was absolutely beautiful. We loved staying here, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was very much enjoyed. The food each evening was delicious and the serenity of the dinner location was amazing. We honestly loved every second of our stay here and would love to go back too. Thank you to all the team for looking after us.

Charitha Rest provides an open-air bath, as well as air-conditioned accommodation in Inginiyagala. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay.

Lovely retreat in the middle of nowhere. The owner was extremely helpful, he organized two halfday safari trips to Yala, plus a driver to and from the retreat, one of them last minute when our other driver didn‘t show. There‘s only one house for guests, so you‘ll stay there alone. The caretaker cooked typical local dishes for breakfast and dinner which were super tasty!
