Avalon, in a tranquil garden setting, offers self-catering cottages with free Wi-Fi and balconies overlooking the valley and the Puketotora River. Beautiful setting and very comfortable accommodation. Loved the spa and the natural pool. The bbq area was also really lovely. Our cottage was well equipped and we really enjoyed our stay.

The Grays is a recently renovated homestay in Whangarei, where guests can make the most of its open-air bath and garden. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. I felt like I was staying with family friends. They were so friendly, I had some incredible chats with everyone, and of course the dogs were sweethearts - well trained, didn't jump up at me but did want pats if possible. I don't really write reviews normally but honestly this stay was a highlight of my trip. They did also mention that some people who come to stay aren't that sociable and that they are more than happy with that - very much each to their own so even if you aren't sociable, this will be a relaxing stay. Views were wonderful from the deck, spa was delightful, but honestly, the people were fantastic. Definitely think I'll stay here any time I'm in Whangarei going forward.

A recently renovated chalet set in Whangarei, Highlander Farmstay - Cabins features a garden. This property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi. Steve the host was great, very friendly, brought his highland cows down in the morning for me to meet. His dog Aggi was also very sweet, hung out with me for a while on the porch. Highly recommend this retreat.

Omapere Beach Apartments features a terrace and barbecue facilities in Opononi. This property offers access to a patio, free private parking and free WiFi. The property was easy to find, clean, comfortable, and would highly recommend to anyone. Bruce was super accommodating, and lovely to chat to as we were checking out.

Situated just 20 km from Opua Forest, FOREST WATERS features accommodation in Haruru with access to a garden, barbecue facilities, as well as a shared kitchen. Overall, the accomodation was fabulous! The grounds were really peaceful and it was only a 10 minute drive to town. So much nicer than staying in town with a lot of noise and people around. The hosts were kind, warm and generous but also gave us our own space and privacy. I'd never stayed in a B&B style accomodation before so this was a new experience and I'd do it again. If I have the opportunity to come back to the Northlands of NZ I'd definitely stay again.

A recently renovated guest house situated in Rangiputa, Wander Inn features barbecue facilities. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. all of it! Proprietor was exceptionally helpful

Set in Mangawhai in the Northland region, Mangawhai Heads apartment has a patio and garden views. The property features inner courtyard views. Jen was very kind. Super cozy, beautiful place and such a beautiful garden so good to look around too.
