I staid two weeks instead of two nights, like I had first planned. Nancy, the hostess, is amazing and super generous. She invited me to try her homemade drinks and to her friend's birthday party at the hostel. She is also very knowledgeable about touristic things in the area and helped me find information about specific locations several times. The hostel is perfectly located, just a short walk from the central square. There are a few small shops just next to the hostel if you need and the street is very quiet at night. The room and bed is comfy, there are shared spaces and a small shared kitchen (in the back of the garden). There is a big courtyard and small garden, perfect for travellers with dogs (like me). The shared bathroom and toilet was always clean and the water in the shower was hot. The different breakfasts (for an extra fee) were delicious! Thanks/gracias/merci for a wonderful stay :)

Not only this place is beautiful, clean and very comfortable, but the owner Mr Cinecio and his wife are wonderful people. He is a very knowledgeable tour guide and took us in two amazing trips to explore ruins and lagoons in the surrounding areas. His wife made delicious breakfasts with local products. This is the perfect place to stay in Leymebamba. Highly recommended!

He cooked a great pizza, burgers and also prepared an amazing breakfast! The lodge rooms were very clean, spacious and each had amazing views of Gocta waterfall. The trailhead to Gocta waterfall was located immediately outside the Casa de Mario door. Mario was instrumental in locating excellent drivers and an English speaking guide! La Casa de Mario enhanced our Chachapoyas experience!

It’s about 10-15 minutes on foot to the center. Very friendly owner who also owns a travel agency. He goes out of his way to help us for example to order pizza for us and to help us booking tickets for Kuelap online. We ordered a taxi with him to get us around and the driver Ivan was wonderful in also giving us explanations and talking about Peru people in general (possible even with our limited knowledge of Spanish).
