The staff was wonderful, especially Sonia on the front desk. No request seemed to phase her. She organized a tour of north eastern Maderia that was wonderful. The hotel is in an excellent location in the centre of the old part of Funchel, near the Municipal Gardens.

We had a wonderful stay at Aqua Natura Madeira. The room was fantastic and the ocean view was absolutely breathtaking — waking up to it was a highlight of our trip. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, always ready to assist and make our stay comfortable. The spa facilities added an extra magical touch to the experience. There’s nothing better than soaking in the jacuzzi after a day of conquering levadas — such a perfect reward. At night, we were treated to beautiful views of the night sky and stars, which made the experience even more special and memorable. Breakfast was also excellent, with great quality and variety. We are really happy we chose this hotel and would definitely stay here again. Just a small note for future guests: if you plan to use the natural pools located just beneath the hotel, keep an eye on the weather. In case of severe conditions, they may be closed. This has nothing to do with the hotel, as the pools are a public facility — just something to be aware of to avoid disappointment. Highly recommended!

Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Casa das Proteas is located at Estrada das Covas nº8, São Jorge, Madeira Island, 50 km from Funchal. The location is excellent as a starting point for several hikes. Teresa is a very welcoming person. We like our stay a lot. Bed is very comfortable. The room and facilities are very clean. Breakfast is just great and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Highly recommended.

The rooms lovely and comfortable with a great bed and a modern bathroom. We loved the view, the balcony and the pool area. The breakfast was excellent. The bottle of Madeira wine was a lovely touch.
