Samed Tamarind is my favorite place to stay on Samed! I love everything about it - this was my 4th or 5th time here, and I have reservations for two more times. Everyone is so friendly, kind, and helpful, and they even recognize me when I go there now!

Super lovely small huts at one of the more southern beaches of Samed. Much more quiet than the busy northern beaches. The staff in Viking/Horizon is super attentive, making sure everything is clean and well attended. Food is also excellent there, the breakfast had Thai dishes (changing every day), tropical fruits, yogurt, muesli, toast, bread, peanut butter, jam as well as eggs and also carnivore options (for those who want it). Though there is not a direct sandy beach, you need to only walk 5 min to get there. The restaurant closes at 5 pm, but that's no problem as there are many other options close by. And if you are interested in one of the fire shows, just walk 15 min north to the next beach, where you find plenty of options at the restaurants and shops there. We loved everything about this little paradise and can highly recommend!

(try the banana bar!). we loved the location, the quiet atmosphere, the dreamy landscape, the swing, hammock and variety of seating. it was too windy to snorkel there, but the day we were leaving a number of small boats were dropping off snorkelers right out front! disappointed i missed that experience. we are two friends who had a room with twin beds. the room was so bright and cheerful, the deck, a lovely place to hang out with coffee in the morning or bevies at night. such a treat!
