Upon arrival, we were immediately surprised by the unique location of this lodge, situated on the top of a cliff with a rich history. Amongst it’s endless beach and rich marine life, it also serves as the perfect spot to watch the sunset and find your inner peace. The rooms, restaurant & other facilities, clearly taking into account principles such as ecology and sustainability, contributed to this experience. Most of all, we would like to thank the owners and staff, who all give their best during our stay, a healthy mix between passion and giving chances to the local communities. This is a paradise - quiet, few people, beautiful beach at one's doorstep, big terrace and hammocks. There is also a big kitchen with everything you need to cook -- good new stove and fridge. Stanley, the manager, and Mama Said, the housekeeper and cook are wonderful, eager to help make one's stay comfortable. We would happily stay again, perhaps with family or friends as it is a big house

We choose Barrys to get away from all the stress and commerce that always follows you when one travel to touristic places. Barrys is located far away from anything. It is you together with the silence, waves, and lovely staff. We took the boat from Zanzibar and stayed for four days. It is one hour drive to Saadani national park where you can see all animals but Rhinos and Cheetas. Our safari was a great animal experience with packed breakfast and lunch prepared by Deodatha and her staff. You will be taken care of in the best possible way by Barry, Deodatha, and staff.

Situated in a mangrove forest with access to a sandy beach, Bahari Pori Resort features an outdoor swimming pool. It also offers a restaurant and several thatched roof tents and cottages.

We loved absolutely everything! If you’d like to experience the real Tanzania, to see the authentic life and some peace and quiet (recommended for example when you’re on the way from Dar to Lushoto or you just have a few days after/before Zanzibar), we can’t recommend Bahari more! Francesco, the owner, is an amazing italian guy who made us feel at home and truly taken care of. He also showed us around and helped with our transportation. His level of hospitality is amazing. The accommodation is comfy and pretty and we would definitely come back again.

A great place to stay, great beaches, pristine and clean. Close enough to the National park for us to make a few visits. Lovely helpful staff, could not be nicer. Well worth the journey there.

Ocean front location. The mamas prepared a really nice breakfast everyday, with freah fruit, toast, mandazi and other deep fried breads. The stews they made and traditional Tanzanian food was excellent and delicious. Clean and fresh. Even arranged a little surprise bbq at the beach for us since we stayed quite long time and it was over Christmas. John is knowledgeable and can arrange nice trips for you if you wish, highly recommend to go to Maziwe for snorkling.
