beautiful city on Lake Kivu. Should stay at Goma Serena Hotel for nicest views and excellent service. A little pricey, but worth spending. Hotels in most countries in Africa are ridiculously expensive. Don't understand why, but irritating. perhaps only a select few make great profit!

Gisenyi is a nice small city, not so small for the Rwandans themselves, as it is ranked the 2nd largest after Kigali. its quite and green for all year round. sitting on the shores of lake Kivu, being overlooked by the Nyiragongo, its beauty is unique.
