The room was very beautiful. The bed is super comfortable. This place provides everything you need. The staff is very nice. The only minus was is that we stayed there only one night.

The spitaki was the perfect vacation house for my husband and I's rock climbing trip. We wanted to be outside of the main towns, and this location was ideal for that. The host, George, was so welcoming and accommodating. The home had everything we needed including a comfortable bed, kitchen, and washing machine. We would love to stay here again for future trips!

Nice design, very comfortable and large room. Everything is very new and modern which is especially great for the bathroom. Location is really fantastic, walking 1 minute down to the beach. Plus amazing view of the beach, mountain, sea and sunset right from the room’s balcony.

Panormos is much quieter than Myrties and it has a big supermarket and a fuel station. But you need some sort of wheels to get to places as buses aren’t as frequent. We had a scooter and that worked for us well. As climbers we travelled everyday to different walls. Panormos offered the cheapest accommodation with facilities.

The relatively quiet and friendly location with lovely views, very Greek island with narrow roads and very friendly people. The exception being at certain times of the day motor scooters are buzzing through the narrow roads but this was not a problem for us.

Small, friendly, has everything you need: lovely beach, wonderful views, great shops and restaurants. The people are very friendly and helpful. You can hire a boat, take a ferry to Telendos where you can go for a walk, watch a sunset and go for a great meal.

Lovely chilled and laid back island.
Lovely chilled and laid back island. Great activities, we were there for a family holiday but the amazing climbing was pretty central and the diving (Kalymnos Diving Club) was great too. Beaches not busy and plenty of then (if small) all around the island. Very good value and food always of a good standard. We rented a car, the island is easy to get around and nowhere is very far

Panormos is a good place to stay when you visit Kalymnos...
Panormos is a good place to stay when you visit Kalymnos island because of its location (close to the port, Kalymnos capital, museums, sightseeing and to beaches and restaurants on the other hand). The problem with all of the island is that there are nowhere sidewalks and streets are so narrow that if two cars meet one of them should back off , because there is not enough space for both of them (!!!!) and pedestrians are in a real danger .

i ll write some comments for the whole island not only myrties. myrties is the main tourist spot on the island. lots of restaurants (we ate twice at la kambusa italian restaurant and the food was really good. try the pasta-excellent). there is a small harbor and within 3 minutes a boat can take you to island telendos (really cheap 3 euros going-2 coming back). we fell in love with emporeios village at the northern part of the island. quite beaches only you and ... goats from local farmers, nice restaurants (ate both at kyma & dreamcatcher). paid no more than 20euros per person. other beaches we enjoyed was platys gyalos semi organised but cheap for beverages-coffee. dont miss the daily trip to pserimos, fantastic beach plus every 3 hours or so tourist ships/pirate ships arrive with loads of tourists. for a while. then again .... peace. visit kalymnos you ll be amazed. explore greece beyond the obvious.

Great place to rock climb better later in the year to avoid the crowds. I was based in Masouri and teamed up with other Canadian climbers. Restaurants all good and reasonable prices. I prefer a cooked breakfast on climbing days so very good at the Ambience. Some of the newer climbing areas are less polished than the older areas but the rock can be very sharp. As people are concentrated in Masouri the social scene is preferable compared to Leonidio, and the climbing just as good in both locations. A car is needed in Leonidio but not so much in Kalymnos. Telendos has great climbing too as well as some spectacular multi-pitch routes.

Kalymos main town is very big busy if you like it busy it’s ideal. There’s lots of burners and bars. It’s easy to catch fairies from the port and I recommend hiring a car to go around the island. We like the north tip of the island best.

I was on a climbing holiday and it was much more peaceful than Masouri, if that is what you like. Meeting friends in Masouri in the evening was awkward because of travel and drink driving. However, I did drink less as a result and probably felt better.

Kalymnos is a popular destination among climbers for good reasons: great limestone walls, outstanding cuisine and legendary hospitality. The locals will let you feel at home, neither for money nor to lure tourists, but because, like their forefathers, they respect foreigners and travellers especially. Unfortunately, the island hibernates in winter, with most restaurants and cafes closed. It's a pity since the all-year-long mild climate makes it a perfect destination for winter holidays. I hope that things might change in the future.
