A very grand accommodation. The exterior is stunning and impressive. Our junior suite was also very nice, elegant and spacious. The service was excellent as well! The city of Foggia is nearby, but it's important to note that the accommodation is on the outskirts of town, so you'll need a car or taxi to get there. I’m not sure about the bus connections.

Fantastic apartment with the best views over Foggia and the surrounding area. Very comfortable, with everything you need for a great stay. Having a garage for parking is a great solution in Foggia too. Antonio was great, very helpful and check in and out very smooth. Highly recommend

How to rate 5-star accommodation? Then more, if you visit such place 1. time?
To tell the truth: this hotel itself was tourist attraction for us. After booking We set out to look for the sights of the surrounding area. After 2-3 hours checking (photos about 40-50 different hotels) some principles still was clear: plastic furniture, tables in a restaurant without linen etc. are forbidden. Furniture must be "long-life" (classic style) - and so expensive. As 4-star hotel can be almost "whatever owner think". In territory all Italy there was dozen hotels with 5 star and less than 100EUR/ night. The cheapest 2-3 definitely was´nt 5, but 4-star. Vigna Nocelli (situated "in bad place" = not near the sea) was the cheapest to accomplish minimum-demands (B&B: Beauty +Breakfast). Although breakfast was adequate, what some 4.5-star cruise ships offered was still more plentiful! In last morning (Mon. = single guests) air condition in restaurant was turned off.
Probably biggest pools of all Italian hotels that are "not in use": "olympic pool" (50m) +the huge pool are "just for photos" (just married-partys etc.) - real swimming happen in little (25x15m) pool. Although hotel situated some 50-70m from highway, there are still noice in night (if walking outside).

Economically, Foggia is not a wealthy city.
Economically, Foggia is not a wealthy city. Although the city boasts a rich history, culture, and architectural heritage, the region faces clear economic challenges on the financial and social fronts. Many buildings are in need of maintenance, as are the roads.

We went to Lucera specifically to meet extended family for the first time. Lucera is a beautiful little town, not at all "touristy" or frequented by Americans. It is located in the beautiful Italian countryside, about 4 hours southeast of Rome.
As we found in all of the cities we visited in Italy, the food was spectacular---everything is very freshly prepared.
Lucera's center is quite small, so very walkable.

For those, who enjoy Italian history and architecture, Foggia is a place to avoid. Its historical centre is in the poorest condition compared to 20 other cities in Puglia we visited during this trip: lots of decrepit buildings with walls covered in graffiti and dirty streets. As a "basecamp" for driving around and visiting other cities in northern Puglia it served us well

The historical center it’s the main attraction. There are a lot of restaurants and shops.
Also if you like to visit you can go and see the medieval castle, the Cathedral and many other places.

Pleasant and small historical centre when all shops situated.
Very run down train station area with loads of migrants sleeping on street /hanging around on benches...
