The bedsheets were incredibly soft and the room was very clean and pleasant to stay. Rustic noises outside - enjoyed being woken up by a rooster. Friendly dogs surrounding the place. The host was very helpful not only to welcome us at night but also recommending where to eat well at that late time. The airport was near enough, we walked.

The pool area was amazing. Our room was large, with comfortable beds overlooking the beautiful pool. Our room was cleaned each day we stayed. We had food in the restaurant one evening but it wasn't anything special. La Julia is the best place for breakfast/lunch. It's a 2 minute walk away. Playa Coral (about 5-10 minute walk away) is a nice quiet beach for swimming. We went snorkelling off the beach there and saw loads of lovely fish. The hotel is remote, but given the quality of the food at La Julia, I would return to stay here if I came back. The hotel is walkable to Vive Mar, to release a turtle and watch beautiful sunsets.

Puerto Escondido is busy and the swimmable beaches are very crowded. If you are looking for a stay that is quieter , more serene with beautiful beaches head south to San Agustinillo , Mazunte or zipolite. It adds an hour to get there but is very worth it for a more relaxed and intimate experience.

I enjoyed Brisas de Zicatela.

I enjoyed Brisas de Zicatela. In particular, the beach was clean and uncrowded, with plenty of room to enjoy the water and sand. The town was quaint, busy but also uncrowded, and all needed amenities and food options were easily accessible.

Our stay at Samora Luxury Resort was nothing short of magical. From the moment my wife and I arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and genuine hospitality that it instantly felt like home. Every single guest and staff member was incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. A special thank you to Sammy, who surprised us with a complimentary room upgrade, it was absolutely amazing and truly made our experience unforgettable. The room was stunning, luxurious, and beyond our expectations. Easily a 10/10 experience. The attention to detail throughout the resort, the peaceful atmosphere, and the thoughtful service made our stay so special. And honestly, I didn’t expect to leave missing anyone, but I even miss Habibi, the resort dog 🐾, who completely stole our hearts. Samora Luxury Resort is a place that stays with you long after you leave. We are beyond grateful for the memories and cannot wait to return. Highly, highly recommended.

Recommend staying in Rindonada as it was more of a...

Recommend staying in Rindonada as it was more of a neighborhood and most nights were quiet. Swimming beaches are all 10 stories down so lots of walking other than manzanilla and Angelito which are the busiest and dirtiest. We found there was a lot of garbage around and lots of plastic in the ocean and beaches and brown froth. We found the restaurants more expensive than Huatulco.

Lively beachside spot with great food and drink options Brisas de Zicatela is a bustling strip running parallel to the beach, offering a great selection of bars and restaurants. It has a laid-back, lively vibe and is ideal for a few nights away if you’re looking to enjoy good food, drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere just steps from the ocean.

The area of town we were in was quieter, but had plenty of good restaurants, including Padre Santo within a few blocks. There are a range of beaches for any taste, whether surfing and waves or gentle beaches. One activity we did was the Turtle Release program, which you hotel can arrange.

Hotel Kuaa was the perfect spot for our stay in Puerto...

Hotel Kuaa was the perfect spot for our stay in Puerto Escondido. The staff is attentive and facilitated everything we needed while we were there, from taxis to in room massage to even calling a doctor when one of us got sick. The location of the hotel is super convenient, right on the beach, but also removed enough from the main party scene that it feels secluded and relaxing. Highly recommend staying here
