The staff was very accommodating, really friendly, helpful, professional and kind. The hotel was very clean with a nice pool and exercise room. The room was huge, clean, comfortable and air conditioning worked well. It is about a 10 minute walk from the downtown. The bed was very comfortable. A refrigerator and a microwave served for our comfort. I loved all the full-size beauty products in the bathroom. The breakfast was nice, hot options (omelet, bacon, sausage) as well as bagels and cereal. I am very satisfied with our stay, I can only recommend this hotel to everyone.

Great re-setting historic city.
Great re-setting historic city. We is Western Railways train lunch car. Walked around town. Ate GREAT food. The only disappointment was the Gordon-Roberts Victorian house that was supposed to be open Saturday 10-5pm but completely dark and closed at just before 3pm arrival. No sign, no note. I left a VM, no return call. We scheduled our drive and day around touring it so quite frustrating. Everything else was a dream. Even though many store front are still closed, everything open was interesting, fun, or yummy. Antiques. Music store. Cookies. Coins/Cards/Stones, old theatre, Lindy’s books and cafe, ice cream…

First off the room that was confirmed was not available!
First off the room that was confirmed was not available! they tried to give us a room that was so small we couldn't of even got our luggage in it.!!! We spoke with the manager Angel the morning we were arriving and she assured us everything was good to go! When we got there about 5 hrs later - we found she had unbooked our room and gave it to someone else.. Then when the clerk called her, she told him to us in another room ( 2 full size beds) - we had booked a a king bed room! THe room was not conducive to my disabilities and was so dirty I wouldn't have let my dogs stay in it! The sheets on the bed were even dirty! We couldn't even get our luggage to the room without climbing 2 flights of stairs!!!! We checked right back out and went somewhere else!!!! The young man that tried to help us was great! but that manager is a real piece of work and needs to be gone. This place is definitely not to Best Western standards!!!!

Frostburg did not have a lot of food options beyond fast food. Several restaurants that were available did not have ample parking. You need to go to Lavale to get better options ( about 5 miles).
However, this hotel was very convenient to Frostburg College in that 1 exit from the college. It is a great value. Make sure you use Waze to get around as there are one way streets and unique road patterns.

I've driven past on I68 so many times and never stopped.
I've driven past on I68 so many times and never stopped. This is an interesting historic town, centered by the Western Maryland Railroad which does historic train trips. The short walk along the tow path is interesting. This is the terminus of what was the C&O canal to Washington DC.
The National Park Service Visitor Center isn't much and only takes about 20 minutes to see. But the Allegany Museum across the street is very good and can take a couple of hours.
Center Street has quite a few good restaurants. We like the French Mise en Place which is only open Thursday to Saturday.
Definitely stay somewhere in the center of the historic district and walk around.

Nice staff but not very clean at all.
Nice staff but not very clean at all. I wish I had paid $40 more for the Comfort Inn. Mold on AC, sticky bathroom floor, stained and smelly carpet in room and hallway. Not convinced the room was bed bug / other things free. Left with the clothes I slept in sealed in a garbage bag. For perspective, I'm a seasonal employee in the outdoor industry and used to camping for extended amounts of time... I'm not picky about much other than a clean space. I would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone.
Aside from the staff being nice, it was pretty terrible.

All shops are closed in Frostburg on Sunday and Monday which was surprising to me. Very limited food options in town.
Streets were deserted, even Frostburg University.
I didn't particularly feel safe as I took a late afternoon walk. After checking Frostburg city safety ratings I would not recommend traveling alone there. A very disappointing visit for me.

I came to Cumberland to visit family on the train. So, I had to have taxi service to get around. I must say that the taxi service was excellent. Didn't have to wait long, drivers were very friendly and talked to me as if we were long time friends. Only stayed 2 nights so didn't check out any parts of Cumberland on this trip.

The side entrance B could use some attention.
The side entrance B could use some attention. The garbage can at the door was over flowing onto the cement. There were two old desk chairs by the door outside, one was upset half on the cement and ground. Cigarette Butts in the grass. "Wires half in the ground and hanging loosely on the left side of door in front of my window....grass had been torn out in that area." The window could not be opened in my room, perhaps rusted shut or clogged with dirt? The commode is dangerous as it is "very low for older people." The "entire Staff" was great!! Very helpful and delighted to be with. They all showed "they care for the property, which is unusual" but very appealing for your company. Give them all a raise, they deserve it!!
