On this private tour, you’ll be able to learn more about how vinegar is made and how to pair it with food. The experience will take place at a traditional family-run acetaia in Vignola – roughly 20km from Modena and Bologna. After meeting your guide, you’ll learn about the history of their family business, and you’ll also be able to visit a historic loft to see the vinegar ageing process.
Later, you’ll head to the tasting room for a variety of delicious samples. You’ll try balsamic vinegar, saba (grape juice condiment), Parmigiana Reggiano cheese, Parma ham, bread and seasonal fruit. During tasting session, your guide will teach you everything you need to know about traditional balsamic vinegar, and how to pair it with food. Then, to finish your experience, you’ll receive a gift of the family saba to take home with you.
