The family was very warm, friendly and welcoming. The two children were lovely. All my meals were wonderful - you can't beat homemade food. 2 minutes from stunning empty beaches - blissful!

Kumu Beach is a cosy boutique hotel, which is mell managed by exceptional staff. The food was excellent and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel premises are well maintained, with a lovely garden and excellent swimming pool.

This place is next to a gorgeous beach. Owned by family. It is rooms are new and the house is beautiful. We had there delicious breakfast and dinner made by lady living downstairs.

The place is spacious and has everything you need: fresh bedsheets, AC, fresh towels, kitchen, fridge, plates, glasses etc. It was clean and comfy. 100% value for the price. The location is good, it is not next to the beach but a very short walking distance. probably 5 minutes. The host was very friendly, attentive and ready to help.

The pool was beautiful & a good size. The room was clean & also nice to have a TV. The food in their restaurant was excellent & the restaurant is on the first floor & is very stylish. The staff were eager to please & so pleasant. We would have liked to stay longer but had to move on.

We didn't had breakfast but we had all the amenities to prepare our breakfast.

Our recent stay at the Beach House was nothing short of delightful. The location is excellent. The house is right by the beach, with an uninterrupted view of the sea, also conveniently close to the local market and shops. The house itself is charming, with a lovely coastal feel. Every room was well-maintained, and thoughtfully arranged to ensure a relaxing experience. The beds were comfortable, and the air conditioning throughout the house worked well. We were also told that one of the rooms had recently been fitted with new mattresses. It was nice to know that the hosts continue to make improvements to ensure a comfortable stay for the guests. The caretaker was very friendly and attentive, always available with a smile and genuine care when needed. It was clear that the owners have put great thought into every detail, from the cozy furnishings to the little touches that made us feel truly at home. We also appreciated the communication from the owners, who checked in via messages to ensure everything was going smoothly during our stay. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and left with many happy memories. We would gladly recommend the Beach House to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway by the sea.

I arrived in Balapitiya during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, not knowing the guesthouse was officially closed for the holiday. But the family welcomed me as if I were one of their own. Despite their celebrations, they offered me a room free of charge, invited me to a beautiful homemade dinner with their extended family, and made me feel safe and cared for. The house is located right on a stunning beach — I watched the sunset, the starry night sky, and even saw the moon setting into the ocean at dawn. It was magical. The next morning they invited me to celebrate New Year with them — the table was full of traditional sweets and warm smiles. Even when I tried to offer something in return, they gently refused. They even made sure I could travel safely onward to Colombo. This wasn’t just a stay — it was an unforgettable experience full of heart and beauty. I’m endlessly grateful and hope to come back with gifts to thank them properly. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Brand new hotel located on very beautiful and quiet beach. Absolutely relaxing. Hotel in modern style. Very spacious rooms with stylish decorations. Restaurant and service is absolutely top. Would recommend to all who wants to enjoy Sri Lanka in relaxing but and stylish mode. Walking on the beach is absolutely magnificent. Also good sunsets.

The breakfast was fantastic, featuring a collection of Sri Lankan favorites.

Everything was perfect- the room, the facilities, the cleanliness, the beautiful atmosphere. Its a prime spot for an incredible sunset. The staff are exceptional.

We had a wonderful stay at this property and would happily return. The location is excellent – peaceful and surrounded by nature, yet still close enough to the main attractions. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, which made it a perfect place to unwind after full days of exploring.

A beautiful and historically interesting house, Samudra Villa has a quiet stretch of beachfront and a well-maintained lovely garden. We had a wonderful stay in a spacious room that had access to two sections of the expansive garden. Comfortable bed, good water pressure, tea/coffee station, free WiFi, and cable TV. The staff were hospitable, kind, and friendly. It was the first time we travelled with our pet (which can be stressful) and the staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. Samudra Villa has set a high standard that will be hard to beat. We appreciate the hospitality of the owner (Sanath) and the hard work of the staff (Roshan, Diana, Irosha, Dasun, and Rishan).

Everything is great and very close to a beach which is like a private beach. Breakfast is massive and tastes well.

We were sceptical at first when booking as photos and reality sometimes are very different! But we were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the hotel is! It has a traditional charm that is awesome! Nothing was too much trouble for the Manager and staff who were very professional and courteous. Meals had both western as well sri lankan options and they were delicious. If you dont like spicy food but want to still try the local stuff, just let them know and they will make it mild! Our deluxe room was clean, neat and very comfortable. And my wife loved that the beach was just at your doorstep and the sea there was safe to go for a dip. We will definitely be back with our kids next time.

I stayed at Blue Maalu Resort with our two sons and had an unforgettable experience. The host was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. He took us to Turtle Beach, where we saw wild sea turtles in their natural habitat for the first time. It was a magical experience, and our children were so happy. We also visited a beautiful nearby beach for snorkeling and swimming, which we absolutely loved. One afternoon, we went on a Madu River boat safari, and it was amazing. We saw so many birds on the island and enjoyed the peaceful beauty of the river. The breakfast was fresh and delicious every morning, and all the staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. We were very sad to leave this exceptional place. We highly recommend Blue Maalu Resort to anyone looking for a relaxing, authentic, and memorable stay in Sri Lanka. We can’t wait to come back!

Good service good lokal food moring an evning

The plunge pool included in our room, this place is beautiful , tranquil lots of animals and birds. Food can be ordered out as they have a menu . The husband and wife and team are amazing and make you so welcome.

Perfect stay in Šri lanka! House has everything. Host is very helpfull and whatever you need he will get it for you. By the beach. We were there last days of april and we were like on our privát beach.
