If you are in Leon take the time to spend a few days at Las Peñitas at Nuevo NAYAL! It’s stunning and beautifully designed. Everything feels new! The spanish couple who set up this place are so kind and welcoming. They have created a true oasis to escape the heat of the city and I couldn’t have had a better 3 nights stay here to round off my trip in Nicaragua. The food is brilliant as well at the restaurant. I ate all my meals there as they were too good! And the staff went out of their way to help me with laundry and tours etc. It’s definitely one of the best, if not the best place to stay in Las Penitas.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff was friendly, and both the room and all hotel areas were spotless and well maintained. They serve an excellent espresso — the coffee beans are carefully selected, and it truly tastes amazing. The food quality was also great. If you don’t need to be directly on the beachfront, I highly recommend this place — the beach is only a two-minute walk away, and I could see the waves from my room window. The owners were often around and always nice to chat with.

The host was super friendly and even gave us a ride after check-out to las Peñas. The hostal house is very nice, it even has a roof top terrace. And it has a pool in which you can actually swim.

Loved our stay here. Nestled in the trees we had a view of the beach and waves breaking where we could watch the surf. Hammocks super comfy in shaded areas and a pool for cooling off. The staff were all lovely and super helpful. Warm showers and aircon which is I think pretty unusual in El transito.

Really nice accommodation, felt more like an air B&B. Location was great right on the beach. Had to walk up the beach a bit for easier waves but waves right outside the door for more advanced surfers. The vibe was amazing , everyone , guest , staff, volunteers all so welcoming and warm! What an unbelievable view! Fantastic beach and pool views, absolutely friendly and lovely staff, reasonably priced. The front rooms overlooking the pool are so well appointed, comfortable and clean. Great value that includes breakfast and movement classes in an idyllic location.
