The cabin is situated in the Green Mountains in a clearing in the trees giving the feeling of isolation although there are other properties nearby. It is beautifully designed with an open plan kitchen/living space and double bedroom downstairs as well as another double bedroom in the loft space. It is bright and very well appointed with comfortable beds, a nice bathroom (on the ground floor) with plenty of hot water and towels for the shower and the kitchen is very thoughtfully equipped with plenty of cooking pots, bowls and utensils, coffee maker, full stove and microwave. We loved that Gene and Mary had left the makings for pancakes and maple syrup for our breakfast. There is a deck with table and chairs where you can sit and watch the birds in the woods. Just at the end of the driveway there is a small waterfall and pool in the river where you can have a dip on a hot day. The cabin is locked by means of a digital keypad which means no worries about keys. We received detailed directions on how to reach the property from Gene who also gave us tips on where to shop on our way in and local places to visit. We had a really relaxing few days here and would definitely recommend the Magical Retreat Cottage.

Would have loved to stay longer.

O Featherbed Inn é um Cama e Café (B&B) situado no centro de Mad River Valley, em Vermont. A propriedade dispõe de lago para nadar, banheira de hidromassagem ao ar livre e fogueiras. Oh my goodness! Staying at Featherbed was the best experience! Karen & Mick are such knowledgeable and enthusiastic hosts. Every tip they gave us was absolutely spot on. Breakfast is exceptional - a gourmet experience every morning and with such a lovely atmosphere around the communal tables. Sadly we were only there for two nights and didn't have time to experience the new sauna and plunge pool - really wish we had booked for a longer stay as there is so much to do in the area and, from the quality of the bedding to the access to trails, Featherbed is perfect in every way.

Luxurious, spacious, clean, everything you could want in accommodations. Neil and Deb contacted us the morning of our stay to make sure we has all the check in info. When we arrive it was easy to find and very close to Burlington. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare a nice meal, living room had comfortable furniture and a warm beautiful fireplace. The patio outside had a firetable which we would have loved to use if it wasn't raining, they even gave us mini smore kits for it! The king size bed was comfortable and the bedroom was spacious. The bathroom had a beautiful huge luxurious soaker tub with rainfall style shower, the bath was so nice it felt like a spa treatment! The views were amazing too! We are already discussing our next trip back and can't wait to stay here again, it's well worth the money!

The location was super helpful for us. We came to stay on the train and needed somewhere central enough. This was perfect- about 10-15 mins walk from the city centre in a lovely residential area with coffee shop and convenience store nearby, with North Beach walkable in the opposite direction as well. The bathroom and kitchen area were cosy and it was great to have a kitchen for the few times we ate at the house (the local eateries were too good for us to stick to self- catering!). The upstairs living area was spacious, with the air con working well to keep it cool (it was unusually hot the week of our stay so this was much appreciated). We enjoyed the comfy sofa for the times we needed to come back to the cool of the house during the afternoons.
