Hotels That Guests Love in Rome
  • It was one of the bigger and more modern updates budget rooms that we stayed at while in Italy. The bathroom was also pretty big and it’s only a few minutes walk away from The Colosseum. There’s also a good amount of places to eat and a grocery store nearby that is a good place to buy drinks/water for cheap and any other little thing. Bed was stiff and blankets a litt itchy. WiFi kept going in and out, city taxes weren’t explained well (had to pay 21 euros for 2 people 3 night stay).

  • The room was very big and very cheap. The rate is lower than at some hostels around. The landlord was very helpful, despite does not speak any other language but Italian. Fairly good located in terms of transportation and walking distance to the local sites. Perfect for budget travelers without high expectations.

  • Value for money - suitable for who travel on budget, cheapest accomodation ever in Europe Location - 10mins walking to Termini, 20mins walking to Colosseum area

  • First of all this is a very cheap hostel so if you are traveling on budget and have low expectations, this is a right place for you. The staff are friendly and they provide basics. They give you a free breakfast (simple but enough) and a dinner pasta. The room and the bathroom were acceptably clean.

  • Close to the rail station 5min walk - recommended Andreas restaurant around the corner Also remember this is a budget hotel so don't expect it to be 5* all singing and dancing - you get what you pay for - if you want a 5* hotel then expect to pay 4x this rate ! Guy on desk gave us a map and marked up all the sites and how to get to them - brilliant There is a supermarket near by Co-op - good prices and a lot cheaper than the station which is 100 metres away from the supermarket

Describe your best tip for traveling cheap in Rome.

check out the hotels for your ideal location, you get very good value for money from smaller hotels/ bed and breakfast/ guest houses etc. Use the hop on hop off buses, buy tickets to the main tourist attractions in advance, unless you like to wait in line a lot! Vatican is manic, I went in March and it was starting to get busy, I can imagine it would be very hot and uncomfortable in the height of the season.
Comics Guesthouse very good value for money in a good location with friendly staff
