Abina was always there for us helping us out with all we needed for our room. Yasser made the mistake of delicious bread for breakfast. On our first morning we arrived early of the ferry crossing and wandered through the little lane ways assisted by the locals … it was so heartwarming and then we met Yasser and he made us feel instantly at home . The smell of the freshly baked bread was just so so nice . He made us feel instantly at right at home . Later that evening we met Puck again so welcoming and friendly. Loved our stay in a lovely comfortable cheery room looking out onto a lovely tropical garden..

Lovely friendly hostel with a stunning view of the Nile. Great location in the centre of the corniche, just across the road from KFC (where a lot of the boat tours depart from). Biba, the host, was incredibly friendly and booked several tours for us. Also a great place to meet fellow travellers.

The staff at the accommodation were extremely kind and very helpful, especially with arranging taxis and other requests. The room was very clean, and all the facilities such as the shower and toilet worked without any issues. (It seems this place is quite new.)

The guesthouse was very welcoming and immediately helped us bring our bags from the ferry. When we asked to change dates, they made it easy, and then when we wanted to change room it was also easy. The roof-top was a great asset with a clear view across the Nile full of faluccas and other boats. It was quiet and we slept well in excellent beds. the windows, and small balcony were great. The bathroom was adequate and clean. JJ helped us get an excellent driver, Mustapha, who spoke good english and was very attentive. Both JJ and his wife spoke good english. At first we were asking ourselves some questions about staying on an island which is still quite underdeveloped, but then we got to realize we were having an authentic experience of an African Nubian village and the village life all around. We loved the weaving shop and the spice shop near the ferryboat and made them our base. The ferryboat went every few minutes and cost almost nothing. We found good restaurants also, even one with beer and wine.

This was the 4th hotel I tried in Egypt in just 10 days, and honestly, it was the only one that matched exactly what was promised on Booking. The manager, Sheriff, really seems to love what he does...and you can feel it in every little detail around the place. The hotel itself is so well thought out. My room was beautiful, with an amazing view of the Nile and the Nubian village. During the day, you can watch the boats drifting by, and at night, the lights of the village give off such a peaceful, magical vibe. It’s located on a small island, which makes it super calm and relaxing. There’s even a little farm! It’s eco-friendly, pet-friendly, and Zaazouaa (the sweetest welcome committee ever) greets every guest as they arrive.

Our host Bibo was fabulous. He arranged our pick up from the airport and boat to the guest house. He arranged our felucca sunset sail. We loved our stay on Eliphintine island, it was very quiet and very easy to cross with the local ferry.

They made sure that we had everything we needed and had transport to and from the airport and train station. The location on the island was amazing and only a short boat ride away from the mainland. The rooms were super nice. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Aswan!

The airport pickup service took us to the Nile where we boarded a private boat to the hotel as it was on Elephantine Island. I was in communication with them via WhatsApp before we arrived and they answered all my questions. Mohamed and Baki carried our 4 suitcases from the boat a short walk to the hotel and after we went to our room greeted us on the rooftop patio with hibiscus drinks. They were very friendly. The island was an unexpected surprise and although the dirt walking paths seemed odd we realized that we were in a real Nubian village. They have their own language and the island has a maze of walking paths. We used google maps to find the Aswan Museum which was a very large archeological site with great views of the Aga Khan Tomb across the Nile. We passed old woman dressed in black knitting traditional hats and had small children follow us around. After the museum we stopped at a shop and were invited into a family sitting area as we drank 3 soft drinks we ordered. Mohammed the store owner was so friendly. If you want a real Nubian Experience that really adds to your trips enjoyment I recommend King Mena. We only stayed one night as we came a day early for our Aswan to Luxor cruise and their boat even took us right to our cruise ship and helped us find it among the 20 odd ships docked 4 deep on the shore of the Nile. I recommend King Mena for the experience. The room was a triple as needed 3 beds and the bathroom was large and the water hot and Mohammed the chef proudly made a great breakfast.
