Breakfast has extensive options, both Japanese & Western style. The most impressive of all though was the view from the room - exceptional. Also appreciated the personalised touch of the staff who messaged personally to ask how comfortable the room is, etc.

The hotel seems brand new, and the rooms are nicely set up with tatami mats and comfortable beds. Just like in a ryokan, you leave your shoes at the entrance. This gives the hotel a very cozy feel despite its size. The staff is extraordinary. I never had to wait to talk to a staff member and they were very helpful. The onsen is one of the best I experienced in larger hotels like this. It is a very nice oasis to come back to after a long day. I particularly liked that they also have a sauna. The location is ideal. There are lots of restaurants and bars literally right outside the hotel, the lake and the castle are both just a short stroll away. If I come back to Matsue, I will stay here again for sure.

Perfect! - Friendly staff (when present) - Amazing value for money! Hard to beat. - Quiet location, but lots of restaurants and cafes nearby, and in walking distance to main attractions

A lovely, modern hotel with relatively large rooms, every amenity you could want, an excellent restaurant, and a beautiful onsen and restaurant complex next door. Just across the street from the train station and a very short walk catty-corner to the ferry terminals. The staff was terrific, both in the hotel and restaurant, and did everything possible to make us feel like honored guests. An extra touch was free coffee/tea/snacks/ice cream and as much bottled water as we wanted. One of our favorite hotels on our 3-month trip.

Lovely and very comfortable stay, a perfect starting point to explore Naoshima Island and Uno. Cosy and well laid out, everything was perfectly considered with all the amenities for our wintery visit in December 2025. Highly recommended!

It was an absolutely unique experience to stay in an old traditional japanese house /all japanese art included, kimono, swords, furniture, games/ hosted by well educated Hideo very nice gentleman, who showed us around the house, also prepared us a cup of tea in traditional way, and we chatted about everything. Recommended to everyone who is tired of anonymous hotels and likes to meet local people.

We loved this place: it was probably the nicest (and most spacious) room during our 4-week journey in Japan. The staff was very friendly. The bar/kitchen staff was exceptionally nice and prepared the best coffee we got in Japan. The traditional Japanese-style breakfast set was also delicious. We stayed one night in Onomichi as a starting point for the biking tour Shimanami Kaido, and we can only recommend it.
