The property is run by Melissa, who is a wildlife conservationist by profession and therefore runs the lodge respecting the local biodiversity. The property was built by her family decades back, and so Melissa knows a lot about the area and its history. We really enjoyed going on horseback riding along the coast and her farm as well as going on an early morning hike to appreciate all the wildlife of the region. What I especially loved was listening to the history of the property and the region, and learning more about the various communities that live there. After long days, it was especially magical to sit by the sea and enjoy a drink being surrounded by fireflies!

The hosts, Vivy and Sebastian were hospitable beyond all expectations, they made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. Furthermore the stay was a experience in itself, spending the evenings hanging in our hammocks in the wooden lodges surrounded by jungle was such a calming sensation.

The location is great opposite its own beach - across a small grass area with palm trees ! Its only a short 5 min walk into town and 5 mins in the opposite direction the main swimming beach (El Almejal). Spacious and comfortable cabins surrounding a grassy square. Great breakfast and lunch served - if you are not out on a boat looking for whales ! Family run - friendly, helpful and fun people. You could not do better.

Lodge El Amargal - Reserva Natural, Ecoturismo & Surf has a garden, private beach area, a terrace and restaurant in Nuquí. The hotel also features free WiFi as well as a paid airport shuttle service.

El Amargal is a beautiful place where you can enjoy the beauty of the wilderness and the Pacific. Our hosts Nicole and Yaz are extremely kind and respectful. It was a lovely stay, highly recommended. I will come back!

It is a wonderful place right at the beach. We saw whales and dolphins every day. The staff and dogs are fantastic. We loved our stay in what can only been described as one of the most breathtakingly beautiful places on earth.
