We booked last minute, and it felt like we had stumbled upon a hidden paradise. The pictures honestly don’t do this place justice – the beauty here is beyond words. The garden is lush, with cozy, winding paths surrounded by tropical plants, and the whole place is meticulously cared for. We even picked fresh bananas from the trees for breakfast! You can see so many birds sitting in your private padio Our room was elegant and comfortable, with a super mattress that allowed us to sleep so peacefully. We left the mosquito net open to enjoy the breeze, which was just perfect. It’s hard to believe a place like this exists just a few meters after entering the town. The food was outstanding. We enjoyed the daily special, and every meal was freshly prepared with local ingredients. The lobster with lemon sauce was honestly one of the best meals we've ever had! The pool is large, sparkling clean, and a great spot to relax – a true oasis on the north side of the lagoon, far from the crowds. We spent time in Bacalar, just a 20-minute drive away, but we loved relaxing in the pool and on the hammocks just as much. The owners and staff were incredibly welcoming, and breakfast was a delight each day, prepared with whatever fresh ingredients were available. This stay exceeded all expectations, and we’d recommend Casa Cactus to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat in nature." We also explored a hidden beach club recommended by Casa Cactus it was beyond imagination. The route to the beach club is bumpy for 1 km, but it's worth a drive , we saw some monkeys when we were walking downhills to the dock. It feels like all the lagoons are just for yourself. We went to Bacalar too, but we preferred this quite part of the lagoon, so authentic tourism. Our best stay in Mexico. Don't think too much when you book it place . You will have amazing stays and conversations, and it's so personal .

There are only three cabins looking at the lagoon. It is very calm and quiet, we spent ours swimming with our kids and just looking at the birds. The cabin is spacious and nice, beds are comfy. We loved the design. There is a coffee machine and a refrigerator which was super helpful since there is no restaurant. But you can get good food in the guest house next door. Bear in mind it is about a 10 min drive to the town which we did about twice a day, for food, groceries or attractions. The staff was super nice. We would definitely come again!

Upon arrival at this accommodation, we were very surprised. We can say that this accommodation was our best after our trip to Mexico. All three houses and the surroundings were beautiful, built in Jungle style, but at the 5* level. Everything was precisely built and everything was functional (no defects). We also appreciate the outdoor kitchen, clean pool and bath under the stars. The entire resort is in the jungle about 500 meters from the main road. The access road is worse, but you can drive slowly by car. It is also 500 meters to the village. You can buy absolutely everything in the village and at great prices. There are also great restaurants. We have to thank Bree for the very good breakfasts and for everything she did for us. This accommodation left a strong beautiful memory in us. Definitely recommend

It had lovely views. Was large, and immaculately clean. It had great AC which is unusual in Xcalak! Breakfast was great, different every day, and served early enough to leave for fishing at 7.30 The beach was small but kept very clean and had nice chairs and sun shelter. The terrace caught the breeze in an evening and was lovely to sit there watching the pelicans.

It isn't so close to the center but it was really easy to call a taxi, and their prices were fine. Really relaxing, it was nice waking up to the sounds of nature. The kayaks and access to the lagoon were great. I'm definitively going to stay there again. The little communal kitchen and water dispenser was a big bonus.
